Same reason you would waste them on Yamato - RP and SL.
I remember back in the day with Navyfield (mid-late 00s), people would cry at the thought of adding submarines, but it actually worked out well. I’m all for them being added. It would get me playing naval again, at least. Since my biggest pet peeve of the mode is how exposed and vulnerable you are upon spawning in blue water. Of course, they could also fix the maps as well so that both fleets don’t spawn across from each other like a 18th century line battle, with little to no cover in between.
As great as that sounds, some ships only do as well as they do because they are era mixed (especially true in coastal). It would be nice however for some attempt to reduce era mixing (i.e introducing more vehicles from a similar era where possible).
We would probably still need to distinguish vehicles both by era and class or we end up with RN Aqulia squaring up against dreadnoughts.

so, you should be able to spawn in as either a CL or CA and whatever DD you have equipped will spawn in with you (at least two different DD). if you want to spawn in a BC, BB, CV, or SS, all those are going to cost spawn points to spawn in, and won’t have an escort.
I like the idea though folders would be extremely needed as BR and tier is mostly dictated by type.
