Naval mode is finally dead

Soviet BR 5.3 DDs are better at killing both light and heavy cruisers than many CLs.

Yeah, my confused surprise when a Tashkent ammo detonated me at nearly 11km via bow in an Enterprise or a Hawkins (been a month or two since that match.

In other news, a new bug in Naval just dropped

11 kills equates to no money or rp and I was active the entire match.

its not limited to naval, its the case in every gamemode, they fd up the scoring system and thus the rewards

Exciting. Hope it’s fixed asap.

We’re aware of issues with mission score and spawn points during battles and are already working on a solution. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Could you also fix torpedo alert sounds randomly not playing either? Please?

Holy no periods, comma’s, or paragraph breaks 😂 I like your post brother, but it’s a bit harder to read without any punctuation lol.

Look, my guy, grammar is important. One extremely long run-on sentence with a post that long will quickly get people to just go cross-eyed.

I will try to read it all but it’s pretty painful so far.

Can we get this other bug fixed too, its making it impossible to kill most battleships that you encounter

Why tho the battleships already nerf to the point it’s crazy

The tldr is AI ships instantly put out fires. I’ve seen it first hand and while not all that problematic for smaller ships, it’s really annoying when you’re trying to kill AI battleships.

Since the only fast way to kill them at that point is an ammo explosion or flooding.

True but I honestly just don’t like how survivability for ships are being handled U have to agree, back then battleship really felt like floating fortresses compared to now. And some mechanics aren’t realistic and I feel like it nerfs the ships a lot.

I’ve seen that issue before and also armour and shells just doesn’t seem to react in the correct and realistic way for naval. U could get Ur magazine detonated even when Ur mainbelt was hit in and extreme angle wouldn’t U find it weird and start questioning. It even happened to a YouTuber Dollarplays when he played the Yamato. And even tho Yamato armour system works in reality even tho she was not hit by any battleships shells instead was hit by bombs and torpedoes, her sister ship musashi and her took a huge amount of hits before sinking. And look at war thunder even bots HE shells are enough to sink her due to the VERY REALISTIC compartments mechanics, wait I meant health bars for compartments.

And a lot of ppl has spoken about maps, and their size the short range engagement maps are good for cruiser and destroyers. But when it comes to battleships the distance in the maps just doesn’t work. Some ships are suffering due to the short distances that their armour system just can’t work at all, ppl has expressed and mentioned that America standard battleships armour system doesn’t work and now Yamato class battleships they just die too easily to even be competitive at top tier.

It’s a video game. The average person - frustratingly, thanks tiktok - isn’t going to sit around for several hours hammering an enemy battleship. Or god forbid 24 hours after rendering it inoperable for it to sink. Extreme case but you get the point well enough.

Reality sadly doesn’t translate to in game when a 40.6cm shell almost completely parallel to yamato’s armor belt would realistically ricochet at 12km but in warthunder just instantly kills the ship.

You’re not wrong but the compartments aren’t what’s getting damaged; it’s sectional health and part of the reason this even exists is pre leviathans Scharnhorst was nothing short of a god damn menace. Without exaggeration, imagine the Sovetsky Soyuz but infinitely worse since 17.2 second reload and G7As. That isn’t including the fact the ammo was literally impossible to hit unless you got an extremely lucky dunk into the ammo elevator.

You’re preaching to the choir; I’m among those that have complained about it as well. 20km spawn is barely acceptable but the bluewater ring maps are 14km or less away. Part of the reason I haven’t really touched top tier naval post leviathans (aside from spading Yamato and Bismarck) is because I find the open water death ring maps boring as hell and lazy game design. Is it realistic? Yes. Doesn’t make it fun.

I understand that the ships can’t be translated to their realistic counterparts, but war thunder has kept their battleship extremely survivable in the past that even standard American battleships works and was at least competitive. At least they could have done the same for a lot ships such as Yamato and other ships. By adding their full armour system such as simple stuff like fragmentation bulkhead and proper watertight and torpedo bulkheads. At least it would have kept some ships still not survivable to their real life counterparts, but at least they could be competitive in some way and not die simply by shrapnel when it got through their mainbelt.
And do U even know some ships suffer extremely fast compared to other ships in terms of compartment damage. Especially Yamato despite her reputation and terrible survivability in terms of armour her compartments gets blacked out extremely quickly too.

And I know they have done something similar in the past called the hull breach mechanics. But even that allows the ships to survive better then what it is now. And yes maps and spawns are terrible and game mode feels lazy, but some ppl has also mentioned is due to just battleships not moving and sniping one another from far ranges. And some ppl has mentioned that allowing destroyers and cruisers to matches would allow ships to play a certain role in battles. And that is true it would allow every ship to play a role and at least U would have to reposition Ur ship more often due to torpedo threats. And the spamming from cruiser, considering that battleship secondaries can sink Yamato due to health bars for her compartments. It gives cruiser players a chance and at least battleship players could support cruiser and destroyers in taking capture zones and help when pushing. And pls U mentioned scharnhost survivability have U seen USS Arizona survivability in the past omds I over abused her back then, She could even stand toe to toe with scharnhost in blank point range 3 to 2 km away. Man I miss those times.
