They’ve severely nerfed bombs. I find that the PE8 is a non-issue these day. Bombs in general aren’t really the way to go, imho. I’ve had HUGE success with mines tho.
They’ve reduced that AA accuracy from AI. You can actually get planes close to boats. I’ve flown the B7A2 and BTD around a lot, longevity variable. The AI AA is still better than players, for the most part.
Giving floats more utility with an exemption would be dope. Why have points if we’re not fighting over them? I find capture points to be a complaint of end tier ship captains. Honestly, Ship Float Planes allow you to really get in there and challenge points, even if you’re driving a BB that would never make it normally.
The issue is, with the new aim system, can you really afford to take your finger OFF the left mouse button to fly a plane? I don’t think so. In the old aim system, that was more viable.
Yeah the March change to nerf AI AA aiming, which affected both modes, has had a bigger increase than the buff to human aiming in NAB. You can see this in the relative Statshark stats. Planes are being killed less often (because the “free kills” from AI guns on human boats are now dramatically less) in the mid ranges (3.7-5.7) of both modes, so that suggests the change to both modes was more powerful than the change to just AB in the other (anti-plane) direction. Air kills in AB only in the “boat BRs” is actually down as well, though, which I do suspect is most likely to people not wanting to play planes as much given the better human aiming in the BR 1.0-2.0 space now, not air getting more survivable.
It’ll be interesting to see what they exclude and include in the end as “CAS armament”. Personally I’d recommend leaving torpedoes off the list, at least in NRB… if you want to take out a second torp plane instead of a CAP fighter, whether you’re on my side or the other side, I for one encourage your life choices. (NAB with in-air reloads might be a little much though).
A more interesting choice is napalm. Doesn’t do much to tanks or ships by comparison, looks fun… I’d say don’t count it for the CAS penalty, personally. Again, at least in NRB.
Yeah, I’m pretty disappointed that we still haven’t seen any much-needed thorough decompression for the coastal fleet, especially since the Bluewater fleet received it in the last update. The balance from low to top tier in coastal battles is still abysmally poor.
I’ve already submitted BR change feedback requesting adjustments for several individual coastal vessels, including Arras, Aconit, Amiens, and Marne. From what I can tell, I might be the only person who suggested almost exhaustive changes for most of the coastal boats that really need them in that thread.
Anyway, I’ve left my first post of coastal fleet feedback there, so feel free to check it out and leave your support if you agree with my suggestions:
I’d done tests with firebombs in the past and they didn’t seem very effective. Killed some light skin motorboats with them. But I’d LOVE is setting a ships deck on fire for awhile did something pretty effective. Clear the deck for a bit at least. “Immobilize” the ship for a spell? cause some crew damage.
Fly a plane is tough in Naval. Torps are pretty hard to land, particularly in Naval. And Incredibly so in Naval RB. Leaving that off from penalty is something I can support.
Smin promised Coastal will receive later, and I think that will be when ‘new type of ship’ introduced in naval, which mentioned in last year’s CM.
Besides, proper Coastal decompression would need overall step-up of Bluewater because of their superiority against Coastal. Very few exceptional coastals could bear against 4.X Bluewater ships right now, even when they are 4.X Coastal right now.
PT-810 deserve 3.7 cause it has ultimate torpedoes(btw torpex analog also used by SU torpedoes, but in game they all have just simple TNT ) and depth charges
Many, including me also expoid the French so I don’t see you point.
2,3 I play UK but there are not 3 boats there, only sometimes when there are events.
