Naval mode is finally dead

Don’t deflect, this is not for big ships, stay on subject for once!

his proposals were for Der Grobe, Albatros, MZ1

After march update

You should switch to 37 mm and kill with it with HE belt, not with 100mm, it’s same tactic as with MZ1

It does not have 100mm,it has an 88mm Flak and as you said a very decent 37mm with HE belt, the problem is it is too fragile.
Before the aim changes being on the back, snipping with the Flak was viable stategy, now you just die cause there is no more spray and prey shooting.
Maybe the solution is not to go down to BR but to buff its hull.

All wooden boats fragile

increasing HMS Peacock to 4.3 is so ridicoulos - the german Bussard/Albatros torpedo boats are better in every detail (armament, speed, crew, ammo) and they are at 3.7!

a very serious issue is the line-of sight mechanic, esp. when increasing the virtual height of the binocular view. Its totally silly that e.g. in the Fiji map the bluewater vessels can target coastals in the inner lagoon very precisly even when they clearly can’t have any line of sight to them. So in most maps the cover prev. given by islands is obsolete now. This happens in many other maps e.g. north-sea where the bluewater and coastals can easily target vessels from spawn to spawn - this was prev. not possible, esp. prev. to the aimbot update

They are fragile cause of wood, Peacock not, cause of DD damage model, but he not deserve 4.3 without ammo increase.

the ammo increase alone helps nothing as mostly the only gun turret is out of action

Oh i assure you it will help a lot.

According to this CM post, which I believe is the one you were referring to below:

The only references I’ve seen concern the Cold War and modern ships intended for the bluewater fleet trees. In response to the question about Chinese, Swedish, and Israeli naval trees, it does mention that they are working on other types of ships and weapons that have not yet been presented in War Thunder.

But there was no explicit mention of the coastal fleet or Smin’s promise. If you could provide a link to the ‘promise’ you received from Smin, I’d appreciate it, as I may have missed it and would like to review and analyze it myself.

Could be one of the optimal solutions for coastal decompression.

Actually I was talking about this

So, nothing was actually promised, contrary to what you claimed.

I’ve already done my part, so I encourage others to continue posting coastal feedback in the current BR changes thread while it’s still open. With enough input, I hope our suggestions will have a better chance of being reviewed and implemented.

Why is this thread plagued only with two absolutist points of view?

One claiming that Naval is perfect and thriving, and the other claimed that Naval is ruined and dead.

It is undeniable that Naval as a mode is in a better state than it’s been for a long time, and that there’s enough of a stable playerbase for the mode not to be literally dead.

But it is also undeniable that the stable playerbase of Naval is barely enough to be qualified as a thriving playerbase because, despite all of the improvements, there are still issues, some of them rather recent, which have not been addressed yet.

Embrance some nuance, joder! Most things in life aren’t black or white!

Never claimed that. Just it’s not dead and new aiming is not a problem(bugs with it is).

New gun dispersions and bigger maps made battles worse for 5.3- games.

I don’t understand, it’s just a different offset and better represents that ships have large crews.

The sights need to change to something less real-world, more radial and ideally around a spot I pick on the ship to track (just tracking centre isn’t ideal and the basic grey box is not consistent), ship outlines being drawn for your target especially for when it’s obscured by terrain, and some kind of center-of-screen display indicating accel/decel would be nice (turns are easy to spot, but speed changes are and obscure interpretation of a parallax)

The sight doesn’t need to be anything like a real gun, or even measured in any way, I’ll just learn to judge speed of turn in relation to whatever I’m given and that’ll be fine IMO (exactly like the previous iteration ;)

Considering it wasn’t even possible to stop fires w/o a ship upgrade when I first started things have continued to improve, who misses lock and update time? not me: engage multiple targets, use scouts w/o a time penalty etc, good stuff.

Oh that strange, why then my post being deleted all the time by someone reports?

Going down from having 20 bots in a game to having 12 bots is progress but is it good enough ? Not really.
Mode with so many bots simply cannot be called anything else than dead.

It’s 60% growth, don’t you think?
