Naval mode is finally dead

And the real “vast majority” keep on playing, while you arguing on a forum.

The same “vast majority” that didn’t ask for these changes in the first place and yet… here you are… proudly declaring your involvement. So, if YOU can be instrumental in change that so many DIDN’T ask for, and do not like, perhaps it will be a small involved number of players that fixes the mistakes made, and returns the gamemode to a playable state for the playerbase just trying to enjoy themselves.

Cause “vast majority” didn’t ask, they play or not and numbers show they play as usual.

I dunno what’s the point in looking into these numbers while there was naval event in March
You can just briefly check profiles yourself next time, and you will be shocked how much people there are from other modes doing an event

More than that next patch will be naval one, which bring some old players back to grind new top monsters and i hope there will be some mechanic changes and bugfixes too. So lost of some “costal” enjoyers who can’t handle the changes will be unnoticeable.

The number’s show arcade lost 18% of players. [shrugs] Go on tho.

Based on this data, in context and reference to other gamemodes, a few months POST Hornet Update, Naval Arcade has still lost approximately 2x to 4x the number of players as a percentage.

So you trying to convince us, that the new aiming caused playerbase NAB growth in March and drop in April which affected NRB the same way. Not the absents of events, not the absents of real content and changes for 2 years, not the new marathon system that cause playerbase to drift in one mode, not even ignored problems and bugs which not fixed ASAP but stays in month and years.

You gonna ignore 2 year long downwards trend on naval? Using just one number form statistically inaccurate comparison. When spring-summer overall pb. drop continues(as always it is), you gonna still cry that this was aiming fault.

It’s you who is trying to convince people to your way of looking at things, and you are not even consistent in this.

It’s you who claims that the increase in the number of players in March is solely due to aiming change in Naval Arcade, so you clearly ignore all other factors:

  • You ignore that March was a month with a major update. The update was released March 18. New vessels were added to the game, so at least some players surely wanted to research and try them. You should always expect increased number of players when the major update is released.
  • You ignore that the number of players in all games modes increased in March. Which again makes sense, since it was major update month. People want to see and test new things.
  • You ignore that we had Naval event in March. Naval is probably the most affected game mode by events, because it normally has the lowest number of players and it’s the easiest to complete events in this game mode due to high event multipliers.
  • You ignore that Naval Arcade aiming change was released in this major update. And I already wrote that it was released March 18. This means until March 18, everyone played with the old aiming system in Naval Arcade.

Ignoring all this and saying that the increased number of players in March is solely due to aiming change is completely crazy. Using the same logic, you could ignore everything else and say that the increased number of players in March was solely due to the fact that players already knew before March 18 they will lose old aiming system in Naval Arcade (from dev servers), and they played so much before March 18 (while they still could use the old aiming system they loved) that we had global number of players increased. And somehow this kind of logic “proved” that the old aiming system was loved by players! It’s just crazy.

I can’t judge March as a month, because there were so many different things happening in this month and they surely affected the number of players in this month. But I can look at the number of players in April (full month after the major update) and compare it to the number of players in February (full month before the major update). This way I can see if the game mode lost or gained players in the last two months period.

For the devs it doesn’t matter if the number of players increased a bit in March, if it reduced hugely in April. More players left Naval in April than joined in March, that’s a fact. And this is a huge problem, especially other game modes gained players in the same period.

I also see now you are looking forward for the June update, to “prove” again that the number of players in Naval increase. I can tell you right now, I’m 99% sure the number of players will increase in June, because it will be a major update month (like March). Comparing major update month only to the previous month will probably always give you increased number of players. This doesn’t prove that the aiming change was so huge success and everyone loves it. This logic doesn’t make any sense, especially if you look at April:

Total number of Naval Arcade players in February: 707922
Total number of Naval Arcade players in March: 765447 (+8.1% of players month to month)
Total number of Naval Arcade players in April: 581452 (-24% of players month to month)

You surely remember that April is the month where the new aiming system is still in the game. Where are all the April players who love the new aiming system so much? But of course you decided to ignore April, because it doesn’t fit your theory.

That’s not true i just stated that aiming didn’t affected the playerbase but the patch itself did.

765447/707922 = 1.081 so it’s 8.1% you should divide current state on previous state not otherwise, do your math right

I’m not a mathematician and I’m just a human, so I make mistakes. I just woke up, I wrote this even before the breakfast, and I clearly didn’t double-check this value (I usually double-check everything, but in this case I didn’t).

I’m not trying to “convince” us. I’m trying to refute the misinformation and dismissals you’re making.

And it’s PAINFULLY Obvious. Everyone can see what you’re doing:

You’re the ONLY person out here beating the drum for this in the face of ALL of us. Sure. Every once in a while you see a buddy of yours come out to support you but… it’s ALL YOU. Consistently. ALL OF The People here hate, or find the aiming both problematic and diminishing to gameplay. SEVERAL Polls in SEVERAL DIFFERENT posts here have found that the MAJORITY of players dislike the aim mode.

Cause you are, in the moment you stop playing game you are no one for the game and for the business, but some disappointed random dude from the internet, why should they listen you over those who plays and pays. It’s just business, nothing personal.

My guy…if I wasn’t playing, I literally wouldn’t be allowed to talk here. You have to at least play 3 matches a week. Also, I’m probably in the top 10% when it comes to giving Gaijin money, historically.

It’s like you’re trying to brute force us into submission. “No. Aim is perfect. ALL of you are wrong!” and I don’t understand WHY. Are you afraid we might accomplish our goals of being heard?

Naval Arcade, right now, in its current state, is at like… Alpha levels of broken. They’ve taken a core component of gameplay and changed it RADICALLY. Diminishing the agency players have in aiming their guns and targeting boats. Aiming is the CORE MECHANIC in War Thunder. I don’t know that ANYONE can deny that. Aiming is what War Thunder is about. To Butcher That, as they’ve done is… criminal. And to do it without the communities input is, tragic.

To ask the playerbase to suffer through months and months of broken game mode… essentially unplayable game play for those of us operating at higher levels of skill is… incredibly dense.

I will again state that if this change had been made to Arcade Tanks, they would have been Steam Bombed, and the changes would have been immediately reverted, then a roadmap would have been presented, and community engagement solicited on the front page. Not buried in the forums.

And I know that because it happened not to long ago.

This was a very dismissive and callous way to implement these broken attempts to make NAB more accessable and enticing to new players.And I think they’ve done the game mode a greater long term harm than good.

Lol. Yeah! That’s what I was doing. Or grinding out French Coastals. Or the new Japanese boat that had just dropped. Or reporting how Cruiser Float planes were still broken.

You’re 100% Correct. When the game wasn’t broken, I wasn’t complaining about it. And I wasn’t wasting my precious time, of which we all have so little, on reading forums. I was working, spending time with family, working on my home, and relaxing with my favorite videogame in my favorite mode.

Unlike now. Where I’m here, having to “debate” with you. lol
