your issue is a skill one clearly
@Hank10111
Considering I played exclusively realistic naval for the last 5 years, I’d say my skill is fine.
Arcade is SUPPOSED to be easier than RB. Being more difficult doesn’t make sense.
Somehow I don’t think the change was meant to encourage RB players to switch to AB.
Is this some kind of unique logical processing that only belongs to personality types that would use an animated animal portrait in a WW2 game?
How does it make any sense at all for Gaijin to be worried about having too many RB players?
That should be the goal, shouldn’t it? To inspire people to play RB and in the case of other modes, SB?
The change was to make arcade a compelling option over realistic, and it worked.
I already enjoy coastal like I did in 2018.
honestly, if they toned down accuracy against planes and player ship AI gunners than it wouldn’t be that bad
the only good thing about this is how easy it is to get kills in naval now lol, time to pop a shitton of wagers
Ah yes, more compelling by eliminating any form of skill.
Also, I should remind you that GAB and AAB still require lead.
Also, you do realize you can zoom out yah? You don’t have to be at 100% zoom.
Ground RB tells you exactly if your round is going to pen, that’s effectively what this naval system is doing.
Sometimes I just want to have mindless fun, that’s what I choose the arcade modes for.
Air tells me where to aim, ground tells me where to pen, and naval tells me to shoot like I’m in Mad Max.
Yes, it does. It does not do all aiming for you. This new naval system doesn’t tell you where to aim, it aims FOR the player wherever the player points, without the player having to learn leading.
Again, I play realistic battles for leading. I don’t want naval RB’s aiming system in arcade, I want mindless fun when I want it to be mindless.
When I want to stress the neurons I know where to go.
Yes, happens every 1-2 minutes, very obnoxious.
I mean time will tell if this a better system , for me it is not .But hey to each its own .
It’d be nice if the system made aiming easier. But it doesn’t. It just takes away more control from the player and hands it to AI.
Speaking of AI, the AI anti-aircraft gunners got what seems to be an enormous buff, able to start firing accurately at aircraft at seemingly their full range instead of just at 3-4 km, what’s up with that? Aircraft seem to have no chance at all.
Also… is anyone else’s “assign primary/secondary/tertiary target” commands not working? My controls didn’t change, but the game doesn’t seem to designate a target at all.
Update: they closed my bug report without actually addressing or understanding what my report was about 🤦♂️
Adding to this conversation. I have been a naval arcade player for years. Basically since it came out. I play almost exclusively coastal, which is already a struggle for me, but this update has ruined the game mode entirely. I looked forward to new coastal ships being added on the off chance that it happened, but now I have no reason to touch it. I can no longer hit anything. There is no visual feedback for my shots. I can’t control the guns like I want to. And having the ship do all the aiming (though no aiming is actually taking place lmao) takes all the remaining fun out of it! If the ship is gonna do all the work, then why the hell am I even here? BRING BACK THE OLD AIMING SYSTEM!! Or at least make it an option!!!
The DDs now just can sherd the boats with ai controlled bofors, just use X for lock and the boat will die, lol. well done, what a legend. who come up of this s***, lol.
NAB is dead.
- Having easier aiming and no need to aim at all is different things. Imagine if they made the range and lead measurements more frequent than they were, that would have improved the accuracy of aiming without taking away skill from the equation.
- The new aiming favors highly maneuverable fast firing ships, where they have more chances to hit, and have a way to fool AI aim bot so that it misses them instead of hitting. No way for player to manually adjust. And they made torpedoes more deadly too… JIN destroyers are now laughing out loud when they spam their torps without any punishment.
- Bots are now using the same aiming mechanism, that made them too effective at most ranges.
NRB would be an alternative if only it wasn’t so slow, and you didn’t need to manually reload your torps/bombs by GOING HALF ACROSS THE MAP TO YOUR SPAWN.
So, now in NAB we have no skill, no balance, no fun. Way to go. Guess I leave the game for good now.
that means you dont have distance correction bound… get it bound to mousewheel so you dont have to shoot two screens below…
how about shoot 2 screens sideways when you on parallel opposite directions with target?
thats what you get for playing arcade, both of you are too fast, and if both of you go different directions then theres nothing you can do, you have to lead two screens away as you just said. This isnt a problem on realistic.
I was about to write the same but then I thought that is better not to give them any ideas LOL
