Naval mode is finally dead

Suggestions need to be approved.

Too bad for you, on Ru forums suggestion moderation takes 1 day. And we don’t have tons of sections for different suggestions just tags and one section for new ones. Probably thousands of vehicle suggestions(useless as i think) instead of gameplay improvement suggestions did a bad joke too you.

and often they are rejected w/o any reason or feedback (happened to 2 of my suggestions regarding new rewards twice)

Lol. So, I guess the only REAL opportunity we have is to voice concern here. Since “Suggestions”, as @Kweedko has suggested, takes a lot of time, and is highly selective. [shrugs]. If you make enough noise, the Devs listen. It’s best if you’re as big and cranky as Tankers but, you do what you can with what you have.

I’ll try suggestions for a bit as well but… [shrugs] I am not going to be playing much NAB, I don’t think, and we’ll see if dropped NAB player numbers help our case. Us talking about it lets them know this is the possible reason for the drop in player numbers.

Awesome, so English speaking players get ignored - where most of the income for the company comes from. Super awesome. Thanks for the heads up though. I still will not be playing another Naval match as long as it stays like this.

So, since you have the perfect connections to actually get the attention of the Devs/Community Managers/Mods, do us all a favor and forward the information and disapproval of the Naval updates. Especially about the Naval Arcade aiming.

Yeah. Not a great response. Lol. Russian Bias in the Forums too? :/ Kweed says, “Go Make Suggestions” then we find out suggestions don’t get heard outside of the Russian threads. :D Sounds like gaslighting to me. [shrugs] “No, the problem is YOU comrade, you aren’t trying hard enough!”

I’m not sure where my Suggestion is, actually. I don’t see a pending section in my posts. I don’t see a message stating that the Suggestion was Accepted or Rejected. It’s just gone.

So… the answer is… THIS place is the ONLY place we REALLY have to voice our issues and concerns.

I’m just kinda pissed because I bought that Event French Cruiser thinking I was going to make it do work and now Arcade Naval is broken.

I am glad @Kweedko is helping us understand the differences between the forums. I suppose I should try out some Google Translating on the RU side lol. I got some stuff I need to take care of the next couple days and then can get into that some and see how it goes.

Well has anyone tried the latest patch/update? LOL Well the seems to have reduced the AI gunner distance for shooting down Air, great! They changed how fires and ammo mags work! Haha it’s wonderful! I spawned in my Tennessee, 2 rounds from a scharn KABOOM, tried again with half the ammo, lasted about 20 seconds and again KABOOM, this time a Roanoke set fire to everything and even with my lvl100 crew, it couldn’t put it out. Tried a 3rd time with a 1/4 ammo. Can ya guess what? A Swedish super shell blew me up in about 30 seconds. Well done gaijin. Somehow you managed to mess things up even further instead of listening to what we really wanted.

Well, I still really appreciate your efforts and sharing more info with us. And even though I don’t agree with you on some of the Naval stuff lol, I’m very glad that you care and are trying to make a Naval better for us all 🍻

[sigh] Yes. Fine. @Kweedko , you’ve been pretty reserved in your responses for the most part.

For sure, I’m pretty disappointed. Naval Arcade was WHY I’ve been playing War Thunder over the recent years, with hundreds and hundreds of hours logged in boats. Thousands probably. It was a gamemode that brought me lots of comfort, joy, and which I’d grown quite good at. These changes have been really disruptive. It makes me… sad. [shrugs]

I don’t agree with the aiming. I could live with it more if we had more information about gun positioning. I feel like we can’t make any real skilled shots without having some of those gun markers back. EVEN IF the game is doing the heavy lifting calculating shots, I think it would be hugely beneficial to have those markers back. I haven’t even found “Realistic Aiming” to be functional in Arcade. I used to roll with that in Arcade until recently.

For the time being… I guess a break from NAB. We’ll check in from time to time to see if it gets better. Pipe up on posts when I have the chance.

I’m disappointed that naval community of the game gave up on improving the game(looking for bugs, suggesting new thing that improve game for all of us, etc.) for the last couple of years and do not demanded changes and attention to the mode and being content with stagnation of naval gameplay and only when changes really come everybody suddenly realize that something wrong with the game, that’s why we all here right now.

but looks like there is not many peps in community really want something to change for good.

I feel like a lot of us didn’t think there was that many problems, or that they need THAT DRASTIC of a change.

The New Changes are INCREDIBLY Disruptive. Like… so much so that its unplayable for us.

I’ve made plenty of Bug Reports on broken things. mostly Cruiser Planes. A bit on gun function.

Never did I think I was going to log on to find my favorite game mangled beyond playability.

That. Has. Been. Devastating.

That such huge changes could be made for a community that wasn’t complaining about it is… strange.

But here we are.

I see regular posts asking for Naval EC to be made available across the week rather than solely the weekend, and for improving the balance of EC.

EC’s biggest issue imo is the snowball effect. Due to spawn point costs and no BR limits, one side can gain a impossible-to-beat lead and dominate the match in a full battleship line-up you cannot really compete with. Also, the snowball effect is not equally available. Without having battleships yourself, even if you got the necessary SP early lead… you’re not gonna be able to capitalize on it to actually spawn in the BB since all you got is destroyers and light cruisers.

Improving the ground and A.I targets could help with the snowball issue maybe. The ground target issue is really excarbarated by the rangefinders and impact predictors being really, really wrong when dealing with stuff on an island and such. This kind of came up as an issue during the iwo jima re-enactment sim event.

Naval EC have RB and Semi RB(aka “Arcade” that not really and Arcade) one of my suggestion is turn Semi RB in to real arcade with all Arcade rules.

What I saw needed in Naval was MORE INTERESTING GAMEPLAY. The SLOW move into bigger and bigger and slower and slower boats is the problem. Encouraging people to move less, via ships that barely move to start with, with slower firing guns, is the problem. Focusing on units that are best suited to bombard coastlines RATHER than move around is the issue.

What we need is more dynamic gameplay via units that move. Units that can utilize cover. Units that promote dynamic gameplay.

I half guess most of the people playing top tier big boats are checked out. Either ALT-TABed or Drinking while watching YouTube. The game play is THAT boring.

Gaijin had it right with the focus on BOATs, not ships. The demand for ships brought us bigger and bigger boats. But thats because people were wanting what they knew. They Knew World of Warships.

The devs TOLD us bigger ship combat would be boring. And they were right.

That, couple with OP post war/cold war boats, and making the Russian Costal Navy OP AF has… be a lot of the issue.

Naval Needs to focus on “Costal” or create more dynamic gameplay at all tiers.

And BBs, as much as people like them, is NOT the answer.

Carriers COULD be the next big dyanic big boat option, if the do it like early WoWS, with more of a Tactical Feel. Keeping Squadron going but… there’s a thread on that already.

Look at the event tread almost no one complaining how boring and lame and lazy designed it is, in current state it shows that there is no reason to play on tops. With 20 minutes matches like this

On RU forum at least someone complain and discuss it problems.

Some matches are full, some aren’t. [shrugs] If there’s more people playing, Gaijin will pat themselves on the back. If there are less, who is to know. I’m not aware that they share that data.

If its a ton new people having fun then… cool. Then just us Vets who spent thousands of hours and don’t like it are boned. Seems like it wasn’t a big number.

I don’t consider personal screenshots “Proof”. Anyone can cherry pick what they want to show.

I’d love some hard numbers to shut me up.
