No, I disabled late spawn years ago. It was a fresh game. Got shot right from spawn to spawn. Spawned, saw a disco light show coming from the enemy spawn, exploded… I didn’t even passed the first container ship.
Right now, destroyers and heavy boats just scan the coastal area for a target marker of a boat they don’t even see and blindly fire their AA aimbot.
The fact that some people think that this new system is better than the old one, is actually bonkers to me .
I could drive a destroyer in circles, or zig zag fiercely, while lobbing shells at another evading destroyer 8km away and hit it. I know how it works.
With the aim bot Arcade Naval scheme, you do not know where your guns are trained. Thus, you have no tools to know where the AI is pointing them at any given moment.
You can’t anticipate where your shots will go if you have no awareness of the elevation or position of your weapons.
That is a large part of the issue. They’ve dumbed down the mechanic AND removed the information needed to make educated shots. You can’t lead a shot if you don’t understand where your guns are pointed.
Which fundamentally changes how Arcade Naval works. It’s Unenjoyable, and an insult to the intelligence of players.
The fact that random people are defending it is wild. That your guns magically do everything for you when you point at the target is a strange disconnect. I’m used to understanding what is going on with my ship, and making decisions based on that. NOW… you have no idea what is going on. You don’t know where your guns are when you’re targeting a ship, or when your cursor drifts off. You can’t easily rapid switch between targets and know when to shoot. …its…awful.
Any new players they get into naval over this are going to get bored. From there perspective, they point at a target, and click to shoot it. The rounds go in that direction and hit a ship if its slow or NOT evading enough… or it won’t. And they’ll be frustrated in not understanding why.
“I pointed at that ship and clicked. Why didn’t it hit!”
[shrugs] Guess you didn’t point hard enough.
I guess you can either wisen up to realistic or dumb down to arcade. Or wait for a maybe fix.
Nah. We can raise hell, let people be aware of the situation, garner support, and affect change. Like the community has done dozens of times before. Passivity is Compliance. If you’re not interested or invested, you’re welcomed to move along.
also what grind’s my gears, why does tanks/helis/planes get daily EXP boost while naval doesn’t?
You might need to make sure you have an end tier costal or blue water ground out and purchased.
:( need’s at least 1 for both? or need 1 of each
You do. They count as different things. Many years ago, Naval was all one thing but now, Bluewater is one thing, Costal is another.
thanks dude :D ig I gotta keep the naval grind up
I fear that in the next “evolution” of the aimbot you will get guaranteed hits despite any evasive maneuvres of your target. I assume it all started with complaints like “I can’t obtain any hits in naval arcade - targetting is too complicated for me”… These complainers must have much more influence on GJ as the mass of the naval playerbase as our criitcs/suggestions were never heard… not even answered at least (in this forum)
Yeah. For sure. One of the first barriers in Naval Arcade is understanding how your crew primarily orients the guns and the understanding that you have to wait for those guns to get into position first. That is unlike other vehicle modes.
Having the lead markers and distance update faster was a HUGE plus. It gave players more information more often, letting them inform their shots. Giving them agency. I loved that change, actually. Sped up the game. For both arcade and realistic.
But this is too far. This is not good for Naval Arcade, or for Naval in general. It’s not preparing the playerbase for more indepth play in realistic, NOR is it giving players the tools to understand the aiming mechanics any better. It’s, infact, making the issue WORSE.
Players need information provided in an intuitive fashion, and the space to be able to understand how that information works practically in the game.
That has been removed with the aim update
I liked how it used to be… but at the same rate, they need to fix the range updates for realistic.
You hear me gaijin?? I don’t want to play a street fighting game, spamming A in Realistic battle, just make it so only the range auto updates, something the crew should be doing already!
@developers
They’re automating the wrong parts of the game ;D
Yeah no kidding. On console, or rather Xbox, I have two options:
1: spam a and hope I don’t click a on a ship miles behind the ship I’m aiming at
2: stare so far into the ocean I pretty much can’t see what I’m shooting
I must state that I disliked the faster targetting - this started to ruin play of coastal vessels - the aimbot is the final nail to the coffin. It should be much more difficult to get a target solution for a small (boat) as for a huge target (destroyer and up) - and you can now target a vessel even if you see 1 pixel from his smoke or fuselage - this is ridicoulos.
smoke-screen itself isn’t working since years - its ok that ships with radar modelled can still target you but not ones w/o
A good side is you can earn money and crew point easily now. 🙂
Another good side all big costals can aim now as they should.
