Naval mode is finally dead

They’re automating the wrong parts of the game ;D

Yeah no kidding. On console, or rather Xbox, I have two options:

1: spam a and hope I don’t click a on a ship miles behind the ship I’m aiming at
2: stare so far into the ocean I pretty much can’t see what I’m shooting

So sill no suggestions only chit-chat.

I must state that I disliked the faster targetting - this started to ruin play of coastal vessels - the aimbot is the final nail to the coffin. It should be much more difficult to get a target solution for a small (boat) as for a huge target (destroyer and up) - and you can now target a vessel even if you see 1 pixel from his smoke or fuselage - this is ridicoulos.
smoke-screen itself isn’t working since years - its ok that ships with radar modelled can still target you but not ones w/o

A good side is you can earn money and crew point easily now. 🙂

Another good side all big costals can aim now as they should.

What I can do is obvious: Not play naval. Might be noticed sooner than any other activity here.

Problem is that all this mess is not about make NAB good and improved, suggest a compromise(like leading with your speed compensated), but just to revert all back where were problems too.

there are a number of threads and a huge number of posts about reverting this change and restore the old mechanics - what should we suggest else? Another change which nobody wanted - and writing something which nobody from GJ will read? The most of us have no access to the russian forum which seems to have much more influence on the decisions of GJ - and using ai to write and read in russian maybe working for some posts but not for starting a complex discussion.
It speaks for yourself the way how you declare the critics and complaints as S***

I still wouldn’t know how aiming actually worked before, which speeds were included and which ones were not. It was too complicated for new players, because the information was missing.

make a suggestion in suggestion section, advertise it, bump it like i did with mine show that you care about NAB, no that you upset.

that’s not true

yes - they should have made some videos like the one published a few days ago - but explaining properly the old mechanic - I assume this would have caused much less effort as the re-coding

It surely didn’t include both speeds, because in a headon at 13km distance, I had to aim about 3 notches down to hit. Something was missing.

I’ve already written pages of suggestions all over the place.

I agree. Not playing Naval is a great way to send a message. And, since it isn’t enjoyable, a lot of us aren’t. Wish I could see solid queue numbers tho.

Missing information is at the crux of my complaint. And in this update, it was intentional. I imagine to make it “easier” but what they’ve done is made it incomprehensible. So, the antithesis. I found it decently intuitive before. Now, frustrating.

I tried Realistic as suggested, and I’m just not that motivated to learn how to play it up to the level I was at in Arcade when Gaijin has shown themselves to make such egregious and drastic changes on a dime.
Why should I invest more time learning something that will be gutted at seemingly random?

Yeah I stopped playing myself, not even logging in anymore. That’s 4 months of grind down the drain as well so I’m doubly annoyed after reaching 6.3.

There IS that. Gaijin has demonstrated little care for the currently dedicated playerbase. And I don’t blame you. Naval is a SLOWER slog. You get more XP but its far more of a time commitment, in boats that are far more underpowered. It’s really more meant for spaded and optimized boats OR… really big ships.

The 5.7+ Naval players probably aren’t feeling the pain as much as Costal players.

I just have no desire to grant opponents access to me with the current aimbot. Why would I offer myself up to auto-aim and Gaijin’s RNG for their shell landing points on me? I grinded what I considered meta lineups in sea and air. I spaded the vehicles and even grinded for Ace on some crews, and I’m going to offer myself to other players to farm Lions and RP on me for free? No thanks. It’s hard enough to measure oneself in the turbulent environment of uptier/downtier matches. Now I’m supposed to perceive my skill accurately with this level of a playing field where my input is relatively meaningless and players aren’t required to think at all about how to hit me?

It’s the most absurd game design decision I’ve ever seen in my life.

Imagine a digital cross-word puzzle that flashed and cycled through words that could be the correct answer for the question, and you just have to spam the mouse click until a click syncs up with the one right word in the cycle. You don’t have to think about or even read the question for the puzzle. All the options are already there, and the right answer is just nestled in between the wrong answers. IT’S JUST A CLICK THE MOUSE BUTTON GAME AND LET GAIJIN DECIDE THE FATE OF ALL. IT’S SO RIDICULOUS I CAN’T EVEN COMPREHEND WHAT WAS GOING THROUGH THEIR MINDS OTHER THAN TO GET PEOPLE TO QUIT, IN WHICH CASE I WONDER IF IT WAS EVEN GAIJIN’S DECISION AT ALL TO ADD THIS PATCH OR IF IT’S SOME KIND OF OVERSIGHT ENTITY ON GAMES AND THEIR IMPACT ON THE PUBLIC/SOCIETY. LIKE HOW IN THE WORLD DOES THIS CHANGE MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL TO ANYBODY. I NEVER THOUGHT SOMETHING LIKE THIS WAS EVEN REMOTELY POSSIBLE.

And if this is somehow just Gaijin trying to make Naval more approachable to new players, STOP MARKETING NAVAL AS A COMPLETED MODE AS IF IT’S EQUAL TO AIR AND LAND GAMES. THIS WAS A CHANGE SO DRASTIC THAT WE SHOULD ALL CONSIDER NAVAL IN A PRE-ALPHA GAME STATE OR SOMETHING THAT ISN’T EVEN IN BETA YET. FINE TUNING, FINE TUNING, FINE TUNING, UUUUUH COMPLETE OVERHAUL THAT IS NOW RIDDLED WITH PROBLEMS THAT NEED A LOT OF MAJOR ADJUSTMENTS. YEAH NO, THIS IS NOT A COMPLETED GAME MODE. TAKE IT OFF THE 3 PRONG BATTLEMODE SHEET, PUT THIS LABELED AS A BETA MODE UNTIL YOU ADD SUBMARINES OR AT LEAST FINALIZE THE TARGETING SCHEME.
