yes it was mentioned in the changelog - but not for testing (this would include any reaction from GJ) - we all know that the comments on the the aimbot were mostly negative from the start of the dev-server.
The comment I was replying to said there was “no warning” - clearly there was “warning”, and obviously it was tested since there were comments about it - wtf r u on about??.
Gaijin doesn’t have to accept any specific idea for change - they are the one man and they have the one vote, and clearly their idea for the game differs from the people who don’t like it.
No idea why people think they would ignore the comments during testing but change their minds afterwards.

Actually this is for testing staff like game behavior, client stabily, etc, trying to the LAB before you pass to live.

Same, I’m actually really enjoying it now and there is a bit of thought having to go into how not get destroyed easily.
Also I’m finding with coastal I can take out those pr206 a lot easier now, I can actually aim for their guns and do something whereas before I’d have to get the aiming sorted and then… die to their ridiculous auto cannons in seconds. It’s brought some balance of a kind to coastal at least
And yeah I find I get ammo racked way easier by some level 5 noob, but I’m also doing the same to everyone else too. I’m finding it way better than prior to the update tbh too
I accept this point - but there is also the counterexample “turret baskets” where @Smin1080p_WT very detailed explained their ideas and motivation to implement this change - due to feedback on the dev-server!
Nearly all of us naval players would still very appreciate some kind of statement from GJ to the aimbot-update. In any kind of business customers would not be amused if they got no reaction to their critics on changes in products or services.
At least they have accepted the bugs

I think we’re “on about” it being pretty obscure. I’m not keeping up with the Dev server to make sure they don’t torpedo Naval at a massive scale. Of my thousands of hours playing Naval Arcade, I’m not spending EXTRA time NOT GRINDING the Battlepass and Dailies on a Dev server. I’m also NOT thinking I have to police that aspect of the game because never in a million years do I think they’re going to radically change aiming to a format used NO WHERE ELSE in War Thunder. It’s… pretty unthinkable.
But yeah.
They’ve talked to the community about changes in a public way before. It took a massive review bombing on Steam but, it wasn’t hard for them to figure out HOW to engage the majority of the community clearly.

I agree with all of this. I’m still dumbfounded by Gaijin. There is such outcry from the player base and they still have yet to say ANYTHING in reply. I laugh everytime I log on and there’s a new update change log where Air and ground both have updates but naval is skipped over completely.
Also, at this point I’ve accepted the new aiming system won’t be going away or reverted but I CANNOT comprehend the new AI upgrades. If I had to guess there is a singular dial gauge that applies to all AI in the mode including whole AI ships, AI gunners on player ships and stationary “Fleet” ships in Encounter battles. Flying planes is next to impossible now. I used to be able to get at least 1 good bombing run in. And these AI ships and AI gunners are destroying my coastal boats from 4 miles away over the top of islands where I literally can’t even click on/target, or see their ship.
But the best part about all this, after the outcry of how terrible the new system is, they rolled out this god awful new ship fire system. I can either lower my munitions numbers to such a small amount where I seem to not get blown to hell by a fire that starts in my bridge and miraculously spreads 200feet fore and after and down 5 levels to detonate my powder rooms, (with this option I run out of shells on my secondary turrets after 10ish minutes of continuously engaging the enemy)…. Or I can stock the amount of ammo I will need to survive the match but just get blown up because apparently my ship sailed into a post atomic detonation firestorm that can spread fire throughout my entire ship because my fire suppression systems are apparently spraying pure O2 and refined solvents on everything. I have also found that if you try to activate any kind of repairs or have any underway when a fire breaks out, no matter if you activate fire suppression in .01 seconds after the outbreak, your ship is doomed even with a lvl100 crew and fully upgraded ship. If your fire suppression goes past 29 seconds your dead. I literally just stop firing and accept my fate. This is complete BS. There are 1500 sailors on some of these ships all with separate jobs. You think the navy has one set of damage control sailors and they get to be divided up between problems? BS! Also these ships are freaking giant metal boxes with sealed bulkheads. I’m pretty sure
If they can prevent freaking water from spreading and sinking the ship they can prevent fire from spreading as well? Just my thought….
wow i missed 5 weeks because of travel, come back and this is naval. As best I can tell if you aim, you miss. just put your mouse on the target and click it will hit.
Tried some boats. Was almost insta-killed by large guns. i was a 90% naval 10% ground player. Looks like Im out of here. time to move on.

Good, Realistic Battles is for Brainalive gameing. Arcade is for Braindead gameing.
I want a total overhole of arcade, just like this. Everything needs to be easy to play, with hard skill cielings, so now million hour no life can waste the whole lobbies tiem with there “Mad Skills”.
Especially Top.Tier Air Arcade planes are way to hard to play. Missels need to be easier to flare and shack.

War Thunder is a simulator. It started as a Flight Sim. It’s branched out into other vehicles. And it has accessable modes, like arcade, to get players comfortable with mechanics.
If you want to play a dedicated Arcade game… go do that. War Thunder isn’t it.
And that, is why, Arcade Naval is failing.
Man, I don’t know why I even bother anymore. Just wasted 300% RP booster and another small one to play with Hyuga that I’m trying to spade. The entire match was just fighting with the stupid aimbot. One broadside salvo would fall short, another would overshoot from around 11-12 km away on a death circle map. Then “gaijin magic”: broadside salvo, some shells fall short, some overshoot, all miss the enemy cruiser that was broadside as well. The shells were basically hugging enemy ship and falling everywhere around except hitting the ship. As the mission was about 15 minutes, I got some shots on the enemies, was expecting around 5 assists, but got big fat ZERO ASSISTS and just 1 kill the entire match. Got puny 2446 damage done and a whooping score of 807. That’s right 807. 1 player kill and zero assists. The fun part is I’m doing a special task that requires FIFTY assists. How am I supposed to get 50 assists when I have hard time getting 1 now? How about other matches where I was supposed to get 5 kills more, but either got an assist or nothing at all. This game is stealing kills and assists. The stupid aimbot can shoot in the wrong place whenever it wants to. You are not playing, you are just witnessing the gameplay. This is so lame and pointless. What really grinds my gears is that the game can nerf you at any time it wants to. Nothing is constant in this “game” just the suck.
I know how it started, we expected battlefield and got CS, deal with it. Arcade is arcade(btw. even RB is arcade with struggles and unrealism), you not complaining about aim marker in planes or magic cross in tanks, you not complaining about hidden modules HP in ships and planes, or sound and models disappearance or vision aka small boats invisibility system. But you complaining that ship crew is aiming as they should.
Got no problem on a stock Huga with one 150 ping game and one with 7.0 , yes her guns a bit unprecise especially when high ping, yes peps turn more and doge more now. But there is no problem play her if you know what you doing.
Fact that sever crashed in the end of first game and all gains were lost, is way more disappointing.

You just started playing it. Well, you got a nice downtier. Eventually you will notice these strange matches in it when almost nothing works. All I get are matches up to BR 7.3 (due to jets), so it’s mostly battleships, including bots. Killing anything takes long time and I still get no assists most of the time (got just 1 tonight… I’m supposed to get 49 more to get the special task done, good luck with that smh). Yes, you can kill with it (have 70 kills and 3 deaths), but the problem is the uneven gameplay where I seem to be nerfed in different matches. The match before the mentioned one I got a first place in Frank Knox, win and total wipeout of the enemy team (usually I’m on the wiped out team). This is as if the game is overcompensating. Funny thing is I get many more ammoracks on cruisers with Soviet cruiser Volorhilov than with a battleship such as Hyuga.
Played another match tonight. It’s interesting how the shells fall all around the ship and many times not hitting it lol.
Couple of days ago I was getting disconnected multiple days in a row, including first match of the day when I just logged in. Very annoying, especially when you use a 300% booster.
this weekend I played a few matches using the british battle-class destroyers Tobruk and Armada. Both have their ammo storage above waterline and are very sensitive for ammo explosions even prev. to the aimbot update. But now they are unusable - often they are killed just out of spawn due to the now precise targetting. This includes also the prem. Cadiz which is of the same class.
So I changed them by the Diana/Daring destr. at the same BR.
Also using planes is still much more difficult - human players can also target them from far distance, prev. the lead marker was shown only at low distance. Its so a massive nerf to aircrafts which was not needed!
