Naval mode is finally dead

I’m disappointed that naval community of the game gave up on improving the game(looking for bugs, suggesting new thing that improve game for all of us, etc.) for the last couple of years and do not demanded changes and attention to the mode and being content with stagnation of naval gameplay and only when changes really come everybody suddenly realize that something wrong with the game, that’s why we all here right now.

but looks like there is not many peps in community really want something to change for good.

I feel like a lot of us didn’t think there was that many problems, or that they need THAT DRASTIC of a change.

The New Changes are INCREDIBLY Disruptive. Like… so much so that its unplayable for us.

I’ve made plenty of Bug Reports on broken things. mostly Cruiser Planes. A bit on gun function.

Never did I think I was going to log on to find my favorite game mangled beyond playability.

That. Has. Been. Devastating.

That such huge changes could be made for a community that wasn’t complaining about it is… strange.

But here we are.

I see regular posts asking for Naval EC to be made available across the week rather than solely the weekend, and for improving the balance of EC.

EC’s biggest issue imo is the snowball effect. Due to spawn point costs and no BR limits, one side can gain a impossible-to-beat lead and dominate the match in a full battleship line-up you cannot really compete with. Also, the snowball effect is not equally available. Without having battleships yourself, even if you got the necessary SP early lead… you’re not gonna be able to capitalize on it to actually spawn in the BB since all you got is destroyers and light cruisers.

Improving the ground and A.I targets could help with the snowball issue maybe. The ground target issue is really excarbarated by the rangefinders and impact predictors being really, really wrong when dealing with stuff on an island and such. This kind of came up as an issue during the iwo jima re-enactment sim event.

Naval EC have RB and Semi RB(aka “Arcade” that not really and Arcade) one of my suggestion is turn Semi RB in to real arcade with all Arcade rules.

What I saw needed in Naval was MORE INTERESTING GAMEPLAY. The SLOW move into bigger and bigger and slower and slower boats is the problem. Encouraging people to move less, via ships that barely move to start with, with slower firing guns, is the problem. Focusing on units that are best suited to bombard coastlines RATHER than move around is the issue.

What we need is more dynamic gameplay via units that move. Units that can utilize cover. Units that promote dynamic gameplay.

I half guess most of the people playing top tier big boats are checked out. Either ALT-TABed or Drinking while watching YouTube. The game play is THAT boring.

Gaijin had it right with the focus on BOATs, not ships. The demand for ships brought us bigger and bigger boats. But thats because people were wanting what they knew. They Knew World of Warships.

The devs TOLD us bigger ship combat would be boring. And they were right.

That, couple with OP post war/cold war boats, and making the Russian Costal Navy OP AF has… be a lot of the issue.

Naval Needs to focus on “Costal” or create more dynamic gameplay at all tiers.

And BBs, as much as people like them, is NOT the answer.

Carriers COULD be the next big dyanic big boat option, if the do it like early WoWS, with more of a Tactical Feel. Keeping Squadron going but… there’s a thread on that already.

Look at the event tread almost no one complaining how boring and lame and lazy designed it is, in current state it shows that there is no reason to play on tops. With 20 minutes matches like this

On RU forum at least someone complain and discuss it problems.

Some matches are full, some aren’t. [shrugs] If there’s more people playing, Gaijin will pat themselves on the back. If there are less, who is to know. I’m not aware that they share that data.

If its a ton new people having fun then… cool. Then just us Vets who spent thousands of hours and don’t like it are boned. Seems like it wasn’t a big number.

I don’t consider personal screenshots “Proof”. Anyone can cherry pick what they want to show.

I’d love some hard numbers to shut me up.

this is exactly my experience with suggestions - they not even give you a hint why they deleted it.
So mostly a lot of work to write a good text and give reasons for it and … puff… its gone

Well, it’s funny because the supporting doc they have on how to submit reports states not to repeat previous requests but if you’re unsure they received them… [shrugs]

people still play nav even if they dont like the changes

it works even better if -
people stop playing naval and play air and tanks

if you want changes you can not make things better

The naval community gave up on suggesting improvements because gaijin doesn’t listen to players anymore. Even prominent CCs like Napalmratte said that they’re being ignored despite having thousands of hours in naval battles. Personally I don’t play naval unless it’s for a challenge, event or the very, very rare daily task. If they nerf or remove the score multipliers for events I’ll stop playing naval completely. Almost every decision they’ve made wrt naval since splitting the bluewater and coastal trees has been moronic. The latest change to arcade aim and AI bot accuracy might be the final nail in the coffin. Even the low coastal tier battles are being overwhelmingly populated by AI bots instead of real players now. Way more than before

I don’t know what you play but BRs 3.3 to 4.3 for boats is like a cat fight and it is not fun!

Also many BP challenges are now broken, trying the Bomber/striker are only possible if you kamikazing.
Also Whaleman is now pure luck, is it so hard for them to fix the A/A bug?

You are joking right?
You just don’t get killed at spawn, the moment you come near anything is insta death.
This goes for both AIR and Ground, A/A gunners are in steroids.

Puting a bandate in a broken leg is not a fix!

why should you kill bots and get good rewards if they can’t fight back, why should you charge straight line at destroyer with a single small boat and shouldn’t be punished for that?

maybe you just used to easymod botfarming, and now can’t do that so easy anymore?

from my point of view it was way more broken before patch, were you must spend same time to kill a bot as a player, but get no reward and they were just decorations and way to easy farm marathons and battlepasses.

The ai aa was even very strong before the aimbot update. Now not only the bots are stronger but also the ai controlled guns on player ships.

Not related to the aimbot update but also very annoying is the now ridicoulos increased prob. that bombs explode by gunfire mid-air or even in the bomb-bay. This often happens when a doomed plane dropped bombs which then can’t do any damage…

Yup, I somewhat enjoyed arcade before…The new aiming system is complete garbage, takes no skill and at the same time is more difficult to get your shells to where you want to go. Not to mention coastal boats get shredded in 2 sec now, so they are useless…i love getting peppered by laser accurate 20mm fire from 14km lol

my impression from some games yesterday are that the ai now starts their fire at shorter distance. It seems a little better as before

Were did I mentioned bots???
Were did I mentioned small boats charging in a straight line? I am not Caster m8!!!
Attacking a lichfield with a V-990 is not punishment, this is what TB were designed for.
Also RN Turbines should not shoots their A/A with pin point acc at a S701 at 5klm!!
I can give you 10 more exambles.

Have you played BR 3,3 to 4,7 and you find it enjoyable or you just play Battleships?
