They didn’t even change the UI with regard to gun turret turning. There’s a micro-second window where as the turrets change from dark green to light green, where you would previously know your guns still had to turn more to get to accurate point because of the Green targeting indicator controlled by mouse, that the guns aren’t actually ready to fire. Right now, if you fire right when they turn light green, they will still be turning and those turrets will miss entirely because they’re still turning toward the target.
They released this patch without even changing that aspect which should have been absurdly simple compared to the auto-aiming programming.
So this patch is entirely half-baked and meant to disrupt the community.
Ngl id have less issues with it if theyd at least kept the part where it showed me where my guns were actually aiming, as it is now theres literally nothing other than turret is pointing in right direction
Okay, but how often will you see them all in the same match, and how long will your queue be if you get knocked out in first few minutes and requeue. I had way more AI than normal when I first tried it after patch. Prime time still fills games. And what kind of players are these, really?
I’m not a forum dweller. I came specifically to find help about how broken and unfun Naval Arcade is since this targeting nerf. Naval Arcade USED to be fun. Now its boring AF. You just point and click. OP boats are even more OP. Fragile boats are lit up in seconds. I have thousands of hours in Naval Arcade and I don’t even know if I’m going to play anymore. This was the most ignorant update ever. FAR FAR worse than the Torpedo mouse aim botch up. They destroyed the core mechanic of naval. Might as well call it an auto battler now. Hell, should just setup AI to squeeze the trigger for me. Why do I even need to sit infront of the computer. Lol. This is the biggest, saddest joke.
It needs to be reverted. It’s like the people making these decisions don’t even play
in which case you wont be taking/bringing a coastal boat to a bluewater fleet battle - but here we are
My brother loves the new upd. Didnt trt it myself but hes been playing almost only NAB
There’s only one “forum dweller” here, and it’s you - who I see in every thread about the topic defending to the death with post after post after post pretending that “no no actually everybody else super duper loves the new aiming!” when 80%+ of written feedback on all platforms I’ve seen and 66%+ of every poll I’ve seen votes against it. Apparently we just don’t understand it and we’re all bad at the game. And yet you’re the one who wants to legalise aimbots for everyone. Was the old system too hard for you, perhaps? Is that why you prefer using a legal aimbot?
I played it a bit on the dev server and it was rancid. I’ve played it a bit on the live server, and it’s still hideous. The reason you aren’t seeing positive feedback about it isn’t because they’re all busy playing the game and having fun like you pretend, it’s because there’s almost nobody aside from yourself who actually likes the new aiming.
Your anecdotes about your personal queue times and player counts are meaningless, assuming you’re even telling the truth. In my experience, and this is the truth, queue times were noticably longer and there were noticably more bots. And I was playing at the same usual time with all servers selected like I normally do. And you have to remember, that Gaijin recently increased the number of bots you could see in a match to reduce queue times, so even with that to “help” queue times were still longer for me than they used to be. Of course I’m sure you think my anecdotes are meaningless, but it isn’t because they don’t fit your narrative, it’s because that’s just my experience as a single person. Only Gaijin is going to know, really, how many players there are still actively playing Navy Arcade at the moment, or how many there will be next week, or next month. All I know is that I won’t be among them.
Reddit doesn’t care about Naval, and Arcade is actively shunned on there by RB elitists (“people play navy in this game?”, “arcade who cares”, and similar comments always pollute threads about either, while the threads are downvoted). But there has been some feedback about the changes on there, and it’s all been negative. The AB community isn’t vocal and the Naval community is the smallest. That makes us Naval Arcade players the quietest of the smallest fraction of the playerbase. That’s why there’s no massive outcry on YouTube, Steam, etc, as there would be if such a big detrimental change was forced upon ground or air RB.
I’ll finish spading the new coastal reservers and I think I’ll be finished with the mode until they change it back. Even reserver tier coastal is terrible now, as soon as anyone has line of sight on each other there’s just a stream of accurate fire until one of you dies, even from 2km, 3km. No skill required to hit long range shots anymore. Just look at them and hold the fire button until you die or they die. How boring.
How it’s nobody if even the first pool had 32 to 67 rates?
You know that’s your problem as a community, what you’ve done to change something, i know what i did, i suggest thing, report bugs asking for Naval in every official polls and treads. And know what my suggestions been implemented, my bugreports been fixed, while you aimed your green circle and been content. That’s why I’m here.
You gonna fight for your right to Party!
Yeah, you make great points. I actually forgot about the Arcade punishment. I usually only see it in game. If you try to push anybody in chat, you get labeled a tryhard and told it’s only Arcade. To which I usually just reply, then why are you here? Or something like that.
I know I’m not in the elite mode, and maybe eventually I will go there if I can get a new monitor. But for this massive of a change, and for it being one of my main hobbies… I was growing to like Naval more than Tanks. I would rush through tank event tasks to go back and play Naval. To get gutted like this is just such an awful feeling.
But yeah there’s plenty of things I don’t weigh in on because I’m not part of the RB crowd, but then they destroy an entire game mode like this, and I become vocal. A lot of people might play a fair bit of both. The number of Naval Arcade Mains is probably really low.
And me - so you math doesn’t add up :)
Game design? This supposes working brains in the so called “developpers”.
No, they won’t do anything. Naval battles are longtime dead (6 players and 26 bots is the usual game in all BR). They simply don’t care.
Everyone whining about the arcade changes are literally just asking for naval realistic
GO PLAY THAT AND STOP CRYING
The moment a dev stops by here and says this, I will attempt to comply, but until then, I would rather not deduce that from the patch. What is the problem with producing some communication? People will take it the wrong way and you’ll have to clarify it with more communication? OH NOOOOOOOOO
Arcade is meant to be point and click casual play so the change is logical. the only people mad about the change are ones looking for the RB mode aiming, naval RB gives lead indicators btw so its still arcade like
Arcade matches are already too long going to time limit, and I have to learn RB Airplanes. Not to mention the feeling of this being forced and having to change all my lineups because of BR changes for planes.
A stupid patch as a nudge to get me to play RB is just BS.
Really!!! So you have some different version of the game? My battles: 4-10 players in both teams, the rest are bots.
Thank you very much!!! Хочу что-то и по-русски добавить, но забанят.
the BR differences are slight at most you will be fine
I spent weeks on several air trees grinding planes for naval comps. Weeks of planning optimal lineups. It’s all down the drain with a rug pull. No warning. No explanation. Just a patch preview and drop.
