Naval mode is finally dead

Before update, I played type K7 and type K3 get 10+kills
always have rookie players said cheater and reported

join battle rating 2.3 have more
even Lv.87 has said
he used 2.3 Gay•Archer
I think this update by these noob suggestion

incidentally it’s not War Thunder anymore
They are no longer working towards the dream of land, sea and air together battlefield
always working hard on the UI
Its name “UI Thunder”
Every update with more meaningless UI change and closed on player’s feedback

You misunderstood. Most maps have large rock formations and islands that are permissive for small ships. If some island formations were also permissive for ocean going ships, that’d be nice.

They removed a lot of rocks and islands from maps about a year ago. Even a lot of Youtubers were voicing their disappointment. Now too many maps are like these death circle maps. Very bland.

Naval arcade is currently a mess, Naval realistic is better in a sense however it appears to be a neglected mode and overtime its increasingly getting boring or evident that theres no change or improvement’s

Current modes e.g. Ground and air get new cool features or modes, meanwhile naval is still stuck with the same maps modes, and in top tier, BB spawn sniping (cause ur in gun range at spawn which is totally logical)

I hope sometime gaijin would FINALLY give some love to naval and actually improve it

Naval has potential just gaijin doesnt want to step up. I guess it’s because it does not yield alot of profit/benefit’s. but because of their negligence it’s not generating as much

Can’t even pen half of them anyway lol

Who are the barely seen any? Reddit also quite quiet about this.

It’s called a cape.
Or maybe you’ve heard of the Battle of Midway or any Japanese island invasion.

@Kweedko Maybe you didn’t know this, but you cannot voice a negative opinion on reddit or you will be downvoted and lose karma and subsequently lose your posting frequency privileges. It’s an unreliable website, and you should not be there.

New Arcade Aiming is the worst. It feels like a point and click game. The aim has no consistancy when the carrot is off a target. There’s no awareness of where your guns are at. The point of realistic for me was faster games with boats that don’t crawl, and an aiming system that trains you to get better at realistic aiming. The current aiming system leaves you completely unprepared. You have NO understanding of how to lead, where your guns are, how weapons operate. It is the WORST at educating the playerbase. It also operates UNLIKE any other mode. My leading in Naval Arcade made me better leading in moving tanks. This is a NET BAD.

Furtermore, this aiming is going to reward HIGH rate of fire ships/boats and further punish the slow and sluggish ones, as the aiming algo will allow people to easily pick those players off.

The ONLY benefit is that it makes it easy to pop campers immediately but… that is extremely short lived as they start evading.

I cannot fathom how anyone thought this was a good idea. It’s like the mouse aiming torps. LESS CONTROL in return for what? Console player appeasement?

I can’t play naval. I can’t play any mode. I have no keybind to lock onto any target, so all my shots won’t go into range. I can’t do anything. If anyone can help me, much appreciated.

They’re catering to boring gameplay. Battleships are slow. Slow to move. Slow to fire. Anything that encourages long range engagement without movement is boring. The original idea to focus on Costal boats was the right one.

When all you do is point and click, you lose interest quickly.

top of the hanger, next to 3 lines, Battles > Tutorial. Motor Boat Control Basics/Destroyer Control Basics. Lock on to targets with middle mouse button, I think that’s default. You need to lock on to a target to aim at it. …or…that’s how it used to be. Who know wth is going on now.

Current arcade aiming is point and click. EVEN when shooting at planes. It is NOT intuitive with ANY OTHER aiming system in the game. Like… WHERE AM I AIMING? I have no idea. I know that when I point at a boat, it does all the calculations but how the heck am I supposed to lead a target? How am I supposed to know how to compensate for THEIR evasion maneuvers WHILE I’m maneuvering? I’m lost. I used to be able to do circles in my destroyer while pelting another one evading. Now… I have no idea where my guns are aiming.

This needs to be reversed. It’s ridiculous. Leave Mobile Aiming to Mobile games. This is a dumbing down of the game that seems self-sabotaging.

This is the keybind for selecting/locking targets. In all modes:

"Lock Target" keybind:

VERY much agree with this advice ☝️
Here is the setting for that (This one is in OPTIONS, rather than Controls):

"Automatic Target Lock" Turn this OFF:

yes and additionally I would suggest to disable “auto-lock” so the manually locked target stays locked.

I honestly thought that’s a bug. Well, no more arcade for me it seems…
