I love Navel. Specifically coastal. My main issue is AI aim is too accurate. Most players don’t hit me like the AI does. It should be dialed in to more human levels of accuracy.
Tell me about it!
Well, I can’t really talk all that much due to using the same corvette a lot since December (good news, I mainly play RB) yet on the bright side it’s only 4.7… well not the greatest excuse since nothing except immediate evasive manoeuvres can say you but definitely not in a He 111.
Current list of missile armament:
• Strela-2M/Fasta-2M, BR 3.3 yet that’s only good for turboprops at this BR, Project 89.2 Minesweeper Bernau
• RIM-24A, BR 4.0, only four unless on a cap, Asheville class PGM USS Douglas PGM-100
Also at BR 5.3, forty-two missiles on the Charles F. Adams class USS Charles F. Adams DDG-2/ Type 103 Lütjens D185.
• Nettuno AShM with its tandem fuse, BR 4.7, five missiles unless on a cap, Freccia class Motoconvertibili Saetta P-494, this one is technically more dangerous to aircraft since the booster runs out quickly (still the oldest missile yet rarer to see since it’s A, Italy an B, a weak hull vessel)
• 9M33 OSA missiles, BR 4.7, Project 1124 Albatros class corvette/Small Anti-Submarine Ship (MPK) MPK-33, this is what downed you, this is by many considered the second best missile armed ship after the Type 103/ an to extention the Charles F. Adams. Twenty-two missiles & can fire both at a time.
• V-600P/S-125, BR 5.3, eighteen missiles, Project 56K Bravy, can fire two at a time (ill advised), has two tracking methods.
Still you’re in Arcade which gives a list of players ships, I would highly recommend reading the scoreboard before entering aircraft in such matches to save you this trouble.
Also the MPK-33 is a powder keg, one good well placed shot will obligate the forward missile magazines & missiles on the ZIF-122 launcher, it can survive this but if the shell also hits/chain reactions the depth charge magazines it’s game over, also if a shot goes long the torpedoes are also usually what does this ship in or the aft cannon magazines.
I feel it could be 5.0/ further yet nothing will change since it’s the missile armament that makes it so potent against aircaft meanwhile against surface targets it’ll play like it currently does but with more restrictions.
Hmm tbh there’s no true WWII BR for NF since time periods are spread across the whole place, technically it can face a jet but also not a good excuse since it’s WWII era but even at BR it faces cold war aircraft from 4.0 onwards & outside of missile armament aircraft must also face late WWII Heavy AA with HE-VT ammunition & or a bunch of Light AA from the get go, an that before I mention any post WWII AA armament fitted with HE-VT ammunition that makes bombers redundant unless they can get above 5000 metres in most cases (doesn’t help against radar guided HA HAA tbh, we’ll still get you).
Heh at least we didn’t get the projected Project 1124M with the 3K95 Krizhal Navalized Tor missile…
In the arcade entertainment mode, the naval cannons automatically calculate lead time, so they are often deceived by the enemy ship’s course changes, resulting in missed shots. This experience is inferior to the historical performance mode, where the player manually predicts the lead time.
why can’t they sort matchmaking, one team with 2x 6.0 heavy cruisers and nothing on the other side higher than 5.7
not the game’s fault that I had a booster and got killed in my 5.3 incredibly fast, but its a very irritating aspect to the game to put you into dud matches, and this kind of nonsense really bites at higher BR
full server too, ridiculously bugged algo
Depending what your 5.7s are, this isn’t a big power gap.
However I am in agreement the matchmaker should force an even number of same tier/type vehicles (ie 4 6.0 CAs and 2 6.0 battleships) on each team (so it’s 2 and 1 vs 2 and 1).
Nothing is more cringe than one team having two nassau classes and all we get is a fargo and a mikuma.
Granted, the japanese heavy cruisers in general don’t struggle with punching well above their weight despite being fairly awful hulls (at least they’re not krasny kavkaz or kirov classes…)
That should be solved by decompression.Nassau should be like at least 6.7 when Fargo and Mikuma are 6.0
go vote
all guns that were changed for “escalation”, now have broken aiming at NAB when controlled by the player and also when controlled by AI gunners, not aiming and shooting at naval targets both in RB and AB.

Albatros is completely bugged now, one cannon shoots Independently and the other misses.
How can a small update mess with a whole game mode and no one notices!!!
We are talking about non existent qualitty control on their game updates.

please reply to the bug reports so hopefully we will be able to play again this summer
lets hope it has something to do with the Exocets

after 10 days they finally accepted the bug
I got a ‘this is a known issue’ email yesterday after subbing to some of the better written bug report on the whole gun aiming fiasco - there are sooo many covering so many vessels and guns, on top of existing bugs that still need looking in to (R130 37mm aim has been accepted as broken for 18M+). For good measure I also added one minor one of my own that no one had yet mentioned.
This is as far as official recognition of the problem has gone. You can be assured if a single Ground based 76mm suddenly changed its behaviour for the worse the Devs would be falling over themselves to acknowledge and fix it.
However dozens of Naval guns… silence…nothing changes!
Now someone has to create a bug report for the broken aiming of some boats against air targets in AB.
On the Glaive, for example, the 40 mm Bofors and .50 cal guns in manual aiming are unable to automatically lead air targets. Because of this, all shots lag behind if you aim at an aircraft’s center of mass. You can reproduce this bug in Test Sail as long as the selected mode is AB.
I am pretty sure more than one boat is affected by this bug, but someone will have to investigate and test each one.
The OP stated that the problem is with the AI-controlled guns on the Glaive, and the OP’s screenshot was taken in RB mode. So it’s not exactly the issue I was describing, but that’s okay. I left my comment on that bug report to show that the problem also exists in AB.
I also tested the Schütze in Test Sail with AB mode selected, and it suffers from the same bug.
someone in Gaijin should be, they seem especially weak on range testing too, eg that reverse bug, matchmaking flaws, height bugs on maps, the type of bugs we see right after updates etc
seems gaijin decide to make naval more closer to death, they banned almost EVERY jet bomber in naval,i can’t understand that at all
Killing rest naval fun kinda motto as for me.
Good riddance in my opinion.
The most that WW2 battleships should be seeing to begin with is super props.
