There’s only one “forum dweller” here, and it’s you - who I see in every thread about the topic defending to the death with post after post after post pretending that “no no actually everybody else super duper loves the new aiming!” when 80%+ of written feedback on all platforms I’ve seen and 66%+ of every poll I’ve seen votes against it. Apparently we just don’t understand it and we’re all bad at the game. And yet you’re the one who wants to legalise aimbots for everyone. Was the old system too hard for you, perhaps? Is that why you prefer using a legal aimbot?
I played it a bit on the dev server and it was rancid. I’ve played it a bit on the live server, and it’s still hideous. The reason you aren’t seeing positive feedback about it isn’t because they’re all busy playing the game and having fun like you pretend, it’s because there’s almost nobody aside from yourself who actually likes the new aiming.
Your anecdotes about your personal queue times and player counts are meaningless, assuming you’re even telling the truth. In my experience, and this is the truth, queue times were noticably longer and there were noticably more bots. And I was playing at the same usual time with all servers selected like I normally do. And you have to remember, that Gaijin recently increased the number of bots you could see in a match to reduce queue times, so even with that to “help” queue times were still longer for me than they used to be. Of course I’m sure you think my anecdotes are meaningless, but it isn’t because they don’t fit your narrative, it’s because that’s just my experience as a single person. Only Gaijin is going to know, really, how many players there are still actively playing Navy Arcade at the moment, or how many there will be next week, or next month. All I know is that I won’t be among them.
Reddit doesn’t care about Naval, and Arcade is actively shunned on there by RB elitists (“people play navy in this game?”, “arcade who cares”, and similar comments always pollute threads about either, while the threads are downvoted). But there has been some feedback about the changes on there, and it’s all been negative. The AB community isn’t vocal and the Naval community is the smallest. That makes us Naval Arcade players the quietest of the smallest fraction of the playerbase. That’s why there’s no massive outcry on YouTube, Steam, etc, as there would be if such a big detrimental change was forced upon ground or air RB.
I’ll finish spading the new coastal reservers and I think I’ll be finished with the mode until they change it back. Even reserver tier coastal is terrible now, as soon as anyone has line of sight on each other there’s just a stream of accurate fire until one of you dies, even from 2km, 3km. No skill required to hit long range shots anymore. Just look at them and hold the fire button until you die or they die. How boring.
