Naval mode is finally dead

Well, long before Gaijin stated that they don’t want to add ships bigger than a destroyer because it wouldn’t be fun or balanced. But the crybabies demanded adding bigger and bigger ships despite glaring issues. Now we have “leviathans”, but, just as Gaijin predicted, it’s unplayable and empty. The balance is skewered starting from 2.3 BR. And original coastal fleet is almost abandoned.
I remember Naval closed beta, it was the most fun time without the bigger ships ruining everything.

It has been dead for while now if your just noticing now.

The issue is the potential for Naval being great is there.

I’m at the Cleveland/Fargo. About to be in the NoDak.

Can’t wait to grind the pain that is low tier Russia.

North Dakota is one of the most painful ships I have ever had the misfortune of playing. If you can stomach skipping it until the Arizona/Nevada, I suggest doing so. The ship is dreadful. Poor protection, terrible guns and it’s slow.

Yeah, “it was the first battleship added to the American Bluewater fleet”. Totally obsolete in today’s WT Naval battles. I try to avoid pre WW2 botes nowadays:

At least the guns hit things.

Unlike the HMS Glorious.

The fact it can’t penetrate a Nevada at 9km is absolutely horrid.

To be fair, one of the reasons Leviathans update caused top-tier naval to die off wasn’t just the blatent overpowering of certain battleships and lack of decompression, but also the destruction of how aiming is done, moving to an on-rails shooting system where the players no longer have to think through deflection, and instead and just put reticle on target and hold down the fire button, making it extremely easy to hit at distance and eliminating maneuver and having to range shots.

They hardly care about Naval. Wasn’t this reported on the dev server? Supposedly fixed now though.
Confirmed is fixed, BUT it still shredded all my ammo amounts AGAIN. FFS, they REALLY need to knock off this crap with ruining our Naval ammo’s every, single, update.

Try hitting an enemy cruiser evading you at 15km.

I’ll wait.

Do you think the USS Oklahoma will be outdated given that it’s a pre-WWII ship?

I’m doing the event anyway because I’m grinding for the Yamato, but I have to admit the Iowa is really tempting me and it could be a gateway

Oklahoma looks fine. Suffers from the 40 second reload silliness though.

Not nearly as bad/low as the North Dakota. Oklahoma has 14 inch guns (N.D. has 12 inch guns), is a Nevada class. And a full tier higher. Should be fine. Does NOT have proximity fused shells for its secondaries, but it is low enough to avoid being uptiered into the 8.7 botes.

Quoting from another tiny Naval thread, so that more Naval players see their comments:

The question is its survivability

Except it has to see Tosa and Mutsu; the two most dangerous ships in the game

I would assume it would be the same or at least similar to the current Nevada class BB in the game (I don’t remember if there is more than one Nevada Class in the game currently, not at computer right now.)

Armor should be near identical to Nevada in game (except for the armored conning tower) but Oklahoma is pre-1929 refit so the torpedo protection will be much worse.

Lol yes, there aren’t any
