My thoughts on the main issue with Naval (Too short)

First ever post on this forum. Hope i picked the right area for the post and go easy on me you hardcore players lol

Alright, I want to like naval. i really enjoy ships. The main issue to me is that in realistic naval, the matches are too short. on several maps you spawn far from each other and by the time you get in close to where the fighting is getting good, the rounds already over. If you die you might as well not respawn because your miles away and the rounds going to be over before you get back to the action around the points. I also enjoy bombers. Bombers are usually not played in the any mode due to multiple issues. But i feel they could work better in naval. The issue is, since the rounds are so short, by the time you get the spawn points needed to spawn one, and die, you most likely wont get to drop a bomb. so you feel rushed to fly in, meaning you have to fly low, and the AI AA just destroys you. If the matches were longer, you would have time to climb to altitude and actually use the bombers. I feel the main issue with naval, at least for me is just how short the rounds are, and would benefit from increased time. I would play sim naval but it seems thats not always able to be played, also havent finished a naval tree yet.

I know there are other issues with this mode. but I feel simply increasing the time a round lasts would increase enjoyability by a significant margin.

Ive mentioned this stuff a few times in game chat, and it seems it was agreed on by other players.

Gaijin should make ticket bleed somewhat slower, if not just take to cap points away, so matches are longer. This would also make the coastal ships not as detrimental to teams as they usually capture the points much faster than the larger ships :)

Im for the ticket bleeding slower. that would help. also just increasing ticket amount would help. if your team didnt spawn a coastal, and the enemy did, your gonna lose no matter what when it comes to maps with capture points. and that happens alot when most matches i play only have 4-5 players on each team, and the rest are bots.

Well they need to remove capture points in naval above 4.7 because Pt boats spam easy caps, and the game is instantly over.

They could either make a cap based map, where the cap is in the blue water area, or just remove them all together.

Secondly.
Add a mode where it’s team vs team. A Team death match sort of game mode. First team to lose 75% of its fleet loses.

Airplane joke/reference aside, yeah. I HATE, and have no idea why some people still do it, to wait for 7 minutes to get into a Battleship match… only for some @€&!?#$%*~3r to spawn PT boat, cap the PT zone point, and end the match within 3 minutes via ticket bleed before BBs can actually have an actual fight.

Is that the intended gameplay loop of Battleship tiers? For a PT boat to end the match in 3 mins via capping?

I think the cap points could be addressed simply by making them bleed slower, or the match starting with significantly more tickets. getting rid of the points all together i dont agree with. as far as a deathmatch mode, there are several maps that kinda play out that way. Im more focused on the quick, low effort addition of longer matches potentially helping out naval in a pretty big way. since its such a small change, i feel it could actually be implemented with minimal effort.

I would be dumbfounded if that was the actual intended game loop. I feel its obvious thats not the intention.

But if a battleship has to cap a point, and a PT boat is near the cap, then forget it.

Could make it two capture points too. Instead of 3

Again, i think extending the matches by either more starting tickets, or slower bleeding would help this. May not fully fix it, but help alot.

Main Naval issues thread linked below. Better to use that one because there are so few naval players overall, each new tiny thread like this just gets lost in the wind.

I also quoted your original message to the main thread so more people see your comments.
