the core mechanics of shell physics is harder to glean via UI and user experience
…has always been my core problem. Knowledge is power, and hiding this information only ensures that the knowledge (or understanding of core game mechanics) goes to a select few who then USE that knowledge to gamify tactics against the ignorant.
Players are left trying to fool the algorithm use to aim. NOT the players “behind the wheel”. We’re playing less against other human players, and more against code Gaijin implemented to dumb the game down.
I want to match skill against players, on equal footing, with everyone having access to the information on how the game works.
As is, it is a lot harder to hit someone you know is fapping around with micromovements to fool the AI. In the past, I’d just shoot center if they’d back and forth. Not fooling me.
I’m mostly air/tanks but I jump into naval. It’s “better” than it had been. But the core mechanic now is: “How do I overcome this incredible hand-holding handicap? How do I wrestle aiming control BACK into my own hands? How do I get my agency back?”
[shrugs]
That people recognize and use naval to farm SL/RP and that’s it… should be a HUGE problem. It will corrupt whatever metrics they’re using to determine player behavoir.
Welcome to the club. It has been “broken” since early this year. It was an intentional change (breaking it) including the removal of our ability to use Realistic Aiming in Naval Arcade like we used to be able to do.
My report about the the Realistic Aiming no longer working in Naval Arcade, which was marked as “not a bug”: Community Bug Reporting System
If you do not like the change (and especially not giving us a menu option to use the old Naval Arcade aiming and/or Realistic Aiming like we could before) please feel free to vote on the poll I made which is still open and ongoing:
This is different, it broke today it was working fine yesterday.
Essentially what happened is point and click system is de facto gone, you need to lead your target (but there is no lead indicator)
And you also need to manually adjust range (but there’s no ability to do so either)
So naval arcade right now (as of today) is much harder to play than RB.
Oh lawd, I see. A brand new bug 🤦♂️ This is the first I have heard about it. If anyone does know about a bug report for this please post a link so we can up vote. I’m not at computer right now, can’t look properly or make one.
Are they trying like to make everyone abandon the mode?
A/As are everywere and today half the times I needed to lead half not!
Is it the LOS bug again cause I got so frustrated to try to play again.
After some testing, it appears that coastal vessels are not affected by this bug so if you are in top-tier coastal against low tier destroyers, they they’re gonna have a hard time hitting you
A lot of people don’t seem to know that a ship’s listing (from a turn) can drastically throw turret aim off regardless of where you’re actually aiming.
So , i disabled the new repair mechanic, but the game still automatically starts repair functions without me turning on the automatic function for unwatering and repairs…
Is this a bug or intended?
Its mighty disorientating and annoying when I keep having to stop the repair and unwatering when, according to my inputs, it should be just the fire extinguishing going on.
Same here, although I´’m not quite sure which pattern is being followed. And the fire fighting function set to automatic tends to get deselected after the first fire. I’ve noticed that at the start of a battle the new damage control icons are being displayed in place of the old ones for a split second.
