You might want to check your map preferences. They changed some of the BRs. African Gulf especially that goes up to 4.7 for 2 maps. No more battleships there.
It looks like I will retire my 5.0 destroyers for now. Frank Knox will be my new SL booster grinder from now on. 4.7 is the way to go, if you need destroyer tasks, such as 27 cables. There are many maps that end at 4.7 as top BR, but there are like 5 maps that 5.0 is the lowest, so you are always the underdog there. It’s just a punishment. No wonder majority of my 5.0 matches were 0.7-1.0 uptiers. Silly gaijin can’t even get this right. It makes soo much sense to be always the lowest BR in a destroyer against cruisers, right gaijin?
Edit: This wasn’t supposed to be a reply to wojtek_haj’s post.
Using planes in naval AB is now impossible, the AA from ships hitting a plane at 8KM (4.7BR), not even the AAA from airfields can hit from that far away. Depending on the map and positioning, you already spawn in the range of the enemy ships’ AA. And this also applies to blue water ships hitting boats with AA. Before, although it was not easy, but you could approach with a boat using skill. Now, you die almost instantly at about 3-4km from the blue water ship.
I’ve actually stopped playing naval at all now (well done Gaijin). Its a shame because after the debacle of yet another copy paste, devalued battle pass at Christmas I pretty much stopped playing War thunder altogether. Air just gets boring towards rank 4, Ground just gets frustrating with its RNG BS the higher you go and Naval you couldn’t even find a match it was so empty.
Then the news came out that they were making a change to queue times on Naval and I thought, yeah I don’t mind jumping back in to a match with bots and a couple of players if I don’t have to wait more than 5 minutes for a match (prior to this you couldn’t get into a match for even 20 minutes prior for some BRs). Started to get back into the game, enjoyed it, opened up the Italian coastal tree, pretty much completed the entire French coastal, was getting US, Japan and Russia up to rank 3 and then this update happened…
So yeah I am done, and I am pretty much a whale when it comes to the game. I don’t mind spending money so for me to say bye bye over this update, and to my favourite mode… well not a good look is it Gaijin?
Playing ground at the moment but I don’t find the RNG BS very fun and with no Naval to fall back on. Meh I’m likely done.
every battle task using/killing planes is obsolete now. As planes are useless human players don’t spawn them so much less planes to kill were present - and if so they are killed by ai aa far away. tasks which uses planes such as bomber, torpedo-bomber or strike etc. are impossible or at least much more difficult as previously.
And on every coastal vessel a rain of ai secondary or aa fire from the bluewater spawn waits after entering a match.
Gaijin, stop shaking the damn camera when I’m trying to shoot!!! It drives me nuts now. This got old very quickly. Who was the genius behind the implementation of this fiasco? I have enough of this game already when the match crashes or everything is always hazy. What’s next, screen flicker (we already had a high pitch, ear piercing sound when we got shot in tanks) or a virus on our computers? smh
Looks like we did win lol, but my results were horrible for a premium bote (and with premium time). Still bad on the second one, 20 min match, used 3 botes (non premium). I can usually easily get 50k to 100k SL’s, often 150k-200k SLs.
Premium BB Marat:
EDIT: OK so I got a better end ish result, updated the screenshot below:
AND just in case anyone wants to try to view the replay, here it is. BUT be warned, it crashed my client, so idk if it will work for you lol: Gaijin Entertainment - Single Sign On
I had the same pattern. It’s an engagement farming technique on the part of Gaijin I think. The matchmaker is designed to give certain results which slightly changes based on your met or unmet criteria. The game determined it was time to throttle you for a match, but not in a way that it would demoralize you. The sting was reduced by the fact that you saw a victory. You were hindered to allow your teammates to gain points.
Then you probably had a high scoring loss next round.
Sec, will update with the end screen showing points. Will delete this message when I add those screenshots too. So you can see as much info as possible. Whelp, not gonna delete this post now, but minimizing the conversation I had with myself to save space:
Spoiler
HUH interesting, it’s not showing the Marat one… hrmmm one min
WELL its not showing one in my own replays, even on my computer itself, and not showing EITHER on the online replay site. Awesome…
Added the 2nd one, notes on it above. It cut out before full end of match, bleh.
OH DERP I just realized I can get server replay link from the mailbox/battles window. One min again!
LMAO! WELL maybe not, tried to play the replay, and it crashed my WT client hahahahaha
Yeah there’s a lot of that kind of shenanigan going around. Guy used a 500% RP booster in a heli match, and it didn’t get tallied afterward.
Anyway, I’ve suspected this was the way the matchmaker worked for years, but it was at least engaging gameplay regardless. With this naval patch, it’s really mask off because the AI has a nearly 100% hit rate. You could repair up before due to a miss and some maneuvers before, so it wasn’t as obvious.
I had a match since patch where there were at least 12 teammates between me and the enemy. I stayed in the backline, and my team capped the point, and I never had a moment where I wasn’t being rained on. It was laughably obvious to me then.
THIS IS EXACTLY what happened to me with the Alaska! I was FULLY furthest away, but had at least 2 and sometimes 3 AI’s laser beaming me from super far away. When there were 5-10 of my teammates RIGHT NEXT TO THE AI’s.
Sure made you heated when you played again, and justice was served against the game when you got some good hits, points, and kills in the next match, in right? ha ha ha, I love gaming.
Yeah this game is rigged.
I probably wouldn’t have noticed if it weren’t for these event vehicles constantly taking my attention from spading vehicles. I would just use my prime crews and began noticing a pattern.
I have played Naval since around 2017-2018 (I had an old account, but the email it was connected to I can no longer access). I tried NRB, but playing with controller, it’s hard to aim. I follow the arrow, but it was most of the time too high, so I had to aim way lower, and it’d work, until my aiming was locked to be lower, so then I had to aim high. In NAB, before the update, it didn’t have it. Besides, I wouldn’t always aim at the circle, since I could aim while enemies were turning. Now, with the new aiming, I don’t know how to feel. it’s great at aiming in close combat, or when the enemy isn’t moving. But while turning, I feel useless. And its easier for me to die now. While NRB issues stay the same.
Do note, these are all in my opinion, based on what I’ve experienced. If their are ways to fix this NRB aiming issue, I’d be open for help.
Ok, so there are two ways to address the leading (aim closer or further) thing in NRB. First, is the typical way with keybinds to adjust the distance, “distance correction”. Most people use mouse wheel for this, but you could probably bind that to some of the buttons, or maybe the top bumpers. COULD maybe bind it to one of the joysticks, but idk how well that would work for you:
Second, everytime you “reselect” an enemy in Naval RB, it will “reset” your aiming distance to their current location. This works but is not ideal as you might select a different target. I assume you already have this bound, but just posting screen of it anyway:
OH and just to double check, I strongly suggest turning this setting OFF. I cannot stand it, it will randomly select new targets when you are in the middle of firing at a target: (This one is in OPTIONS, rather than Controls)
I really love the new auto-aiming. NAB sucked before because I missed most of my shots because I had to simultaneously take care to adjust distance and aim, making me often not even see the target on screen (because of lead), or missing a lot because the shells just a bit overshoot or undershoot.
It bugged me because there is a crew to take care of such calculations.
Ideally I could equally focus on firing and maneuvering, while in the old system if I stopped aiming for a bit to make a maneuver, it’d basically reset my alignment so I had to miss a few salvos before hitting again.
Maps should be more open though, so we’d have terrain and other stuff to make maneuvering meaningful, and not just spawn-shooting in open sea.
its ok that you like the new aiming as I accept if one is not my opinion ( I still dislike it) . As for the maps maybe I misunderstood you because you wished more open maps which in consequence support the spawn to spawn shooting which you dislike (as nearly every other player incl. myself)
