With the new torpedo lines on map feature coming to naval, this points towards the direction where we could get a proper map style naval controll mode for controlling you vehicle.
This could allow increased situational avareness and better feedback for your own actions in battle, which could make more people interested in playing naval.
- Yes
- No
Firstly a crude example picture
- note that I have aded the new torpedo lines as well since this could allow trackign torpedoes to target better.
Secondly Explanations for elements
- You can view different vehicle types their distances (only your own targetted will be accurate other are esimates), and their speed and heding.
Possible controlls from this view?
- Click for heading
- Select taragets
- (Fireing and targetting weaponry, Optional check bellow)
- (Future prooffing for new additions, such as submarines)
This information is usefull to the player due to
- Finding openings in enemy lines
- Avoiding possible dangrous enemies
This type of centralized controll room is present on larger ships and being able to view this battlefield information would also bring some realism to the game.
Naval targetting assist on map controll mode (OPTIONAL)
In addition, since it has been showed possible that you can track your own ammunition on the map you could also expand this map controll mode by allowing shooting and targetting within it.
Example picture from previous view
In the aiming mode: example
- see selected target and your own aiming reticle (green)
- your own shells airborne (yellow)
- shell impacts, (yellow miss, orage Hit)
This type of aiming assist could make the currently unpopular aiming more intuitive for new players to learn since you can easier see on the map where your shots hit.
- Yes (It should be implemented at the same time)
- Yes (After people have gotten used to the map mode)
- Maybe (Depends on the map mode itself)
- No (I’d prefer some other implementtion)
- No (there shouldn’t be alternatives for aiming)
Overall I think this kind of controll/information mode would be a positive change for the gamemode and it could assist in possible future additions allowing naval to improve in the future.
