Naval is unplayable right now

Garbage mode by gaijin, cant fix stuff in 1 week. literally clueless devs.

died to 152mm gun ammo explosion 2 times in a row in same match just now, in a ijn mutsu

just delete this mode from the game if you do not care this much, or give it to some charity, im sure theyll spend more time fixing this mode for free than gaijin ever did.

Remove the garbage HE spam from the game. Literally bots with 0 iq who sit in base with HE spam from their cruisers are getting no.1 on scoreboard vs battleships.

Make BBs useful again.

You died to SAP though, not HE. HE, TF and VT 120 mm+ were what was nerfed back (re-nerfed?) today.

Probably ghostshelled and bypassed armour. soviet 152mm SAP have 170mm pen point blank and 70mm pen on 10KM on 0 angle. It should be not possible to pen Mutsu at all.

Nothing was so far said about fix related
to ghostshelling trough armour.

now they need to work on that godawful voice warning crap they came up with … at the very least you should be able to remove the chatter you do not want … at the moment it is all or nothing , i choose nothing but that has problems as well

Its not fault of battleships they were designed to wipe cruisers of the board in battle among other things. Its simply realistic thing. One on one cruisers were not even a match to battleships. This is basic naval history. Unless you want this game to be some WOWS clone this is how it should be.

Cruisers are victims of two basic things.
A - BR compression that put them into battles where they face battleships they were not designed to face. This is BR problem you have cruisers put into same BR as battleships. Ask whoever assign BR to ships why cruisers are on battleship BR and what is point of it.
B - “genius” map design, either open sea ring of death of same maps on BR 6.3 as on 4.3 with spawn to spawn shooting from start. On both types cruisers are free SL piniata. Again issue of both BR placement of ships and map design.

I also detonate enemy BBs with HE secondaries (15cm) . Its very strange how powerful HE is. Also noticed that sometimes one HE salvo wrecks your crew down by 40%. Its insane.

I’m one of these 0 iq bots if I play BR 6.0 Cruiser. I never asked for being matched with BBs, but I get BBs always with no exception . The only thing u can do in this Cruiser is spawn, stop, shoot as fast as u can until u get ammoracked, unrepairable breach or both of them. And I enjoy trolling all BBs with HE.
Keep in mind , I never asked for being matched with BBs but the cannon fodder wants to have fun too.

No I’m not asking for CL to 1v1 BBs that’s fine its more the ratio of the two in a match at once makes it really unfun if you’re not also trying to crawl about in a battleship

PS The maps for WT naval are by far the worst maps I’ve ever seen in a game and take the cake from their dogshit tank maps

I know what you mean. Its thinking in direction of more combined fleet battles instead of battleships slugging it out on random ocean circle.
The idea itself is good. But lets be honest. It would make wait times longer amd crying of all boring Sharn/Kron apes crying they cannot fight in only ship they use would be atronomical. This would require greater playerbase and well current event killed most potential new players by rampant SKR farming ( 10 kills sealclubbing with it is no big deal).

Personally i think combined fleet battles would be great to bring some dynamic or new breeze to this stagnant gamemode. But we are where we are…

I thought this thread was just Hypobolic, but just did a match and lost 50% of my crew in a light cruiser from a single salvo from a destroyer. What the hell did they do

In short:
Messed up with HE damage, messed up shell fragmentation, messed up armour so shells ghostshells inside with no opposition.

Here, the sad situation we currently have. I just spawned, as you can see. The match just startet. I got hit by a jap HE or SAP shell at the indicated position. It took away over 60% of my crew and got me an unrepairable breach, buyoncy with this one hit down to 29% as well. From just one hit, a mere minute after match start? As if there are no watertight compartments and all the crew is concentrated in this section. And WTF, how can HE penetrate there in the first place??? MEH MECHANIC.

The other way around. Detonated a WW1 dreadnought with a secondary salvo, 15cm SAP/HE.

USS Nevada killing another Nevada with 5inch (12,7cm) gun.

Also Naval full of other bugs and matches disconnect far too often. Got stuck ( the mast…) and sunk my BC at this bridge. I officially hate these cluttered maps. The longer I play Naval (for the Baden Superdreadnought event), the more I’ve got the conclusion that this gamemode should be shut off. Then redesign it from the scratch. DM, HE/AP mechanics, models, maps, BRs… Incorporation of air power needs to be different as well. Otherwise the next generation of BBs will face jet bombers and the likes. Even now its meh, when you face very advanced attackers with up to 2000lb instagib bombs in a WW1 dreadnought without any AA. Or Lancaster with this 3465345635467567lb super bomb… PE-8 and the FAB-5000^^

AA on some WW1 dreadnoughts doesnt matter that much, since you are most of the time near other cruisers or destroyers or BS that thave enough AA.

And since the AI is just a laser beam, planes are down before they can even come close.
Thats one of the reasons, NO ONE!!! is playing planes in this game mode because its no fun.

As if it would be enough, to add a voice line to the game, that says that an enemy plane is up, and its direction and you as the player have to shoot it down if you are in a battleship.

Making only Cruisers and destroyers have AI controlled AA turrets.
I cant even remember, the last time i have played a plane in Naval.

Naval is a shame overall

It’s only been a week since i called them a bunch of clowns. So I played a game, immediately got a rape alarm because of “depth”, rage quit. This will be a Battle Pass I won’t be completing.

Just no…

My latest thing to hate…ships that drop to 0% and magically stay alive, even gain health, for a minute or more still moving and shooting whilst absorbing salvo after salvo. At first I thought maybe I was having connection issues until it happened again, and again, and again…

They attempted to remove the ‘dead yet still alive’ issue for air targets (sort of worked, well except for the wingless, flat spin, still living ones) and just seemed to have made an equally bad version for Naval.

Plus I’m not fully convinced they’ve fixed the HE issue. Feels more like they just simply dialed down the damage to give the impression as I can still knock out modules on big ships with one salvo with unnerving regularity rather than having to brute forcing through the armour or relying on a lucky penetration. Maybe some ship models are better than others but it’s certainly doesn’t feel like a universal return to old times.

Oh well, at least it’s entertaining in a morbid kind of way!

Yes, 152 mm sap should definitely 1 shot and penetrate a battleship.

I would put up the replay link, maybe someone would have time to look at it and figure out which plate it penetrated and if it should have. Maybe there’s another protection bug there, idk. The point is everyone was complaining about HE overpenning, which since yesterday it doesn’t do so much anymore. SAP still could be overbuffed too or it could be that the added shrapnelling is showing up some armor holes no one had noticed before.
