i found that issue on Spokoinyy,it’s too terrible to aim
I was talking about North Dakota, the 6.3.
Not the SoDak at 8.3.
O_Warrior0 post misguided me
Yeah, I think autocorrect got him
Or he confused the name. Either or.
Back onto the current topic; shells from ships in general, not just low caliber (low caliber example: 12.7cm or below) seem to randomly fire off somewhere in the next area code and I think it may be due to immediately firing on a locked target before the gunner AI ‘updates’ to the new target, based on server ping.
Been a bit of an issue for a while now and I don’t know if Heavy Cavalry update is the origin or I just noticed it more.
So now, almost all “big coastal” ships are unplayable.
I was playing the LÉ Orla the other day and I noticed this too. Very annoying. Made it so difficult to play!
On one hand this adds a little bit more durability for small PT boats.
On the other hand, gunboats, fregates and corvette are now unable to aim the turrets of enemy DDs so they just die in a few seconds.
It’t’s a bug and incidentally not the first time it have appeared. Some update must have broken aiming again.
i’m having the same aiming issue whenever i try playing my Bussard in Germany coastal tree. having to suddenly lead to hit anything
Aiming issues I’ve so far seen…
Any vessel using the US 3" (various marks tested)
Anything using an OTO 76mm (alongside the Albatross! Bussard self firing bow gun)
Russian AK-726 & AK-176
Edit: add to the list the Italian Albatross & Alciones SMP3 guns.
Note : strange how it doesn’t seem to affect the Russian 34-k, F-34, D-56TS gun, all of which are naval mounts of army guns…!
Don’t hold your breath waiting for the Devs to take action. Still waiting on a fix for the R-130s 37mm Flak M42 that has a similar aiming +20deg right aiming issue. 18months and counting…
And there’s even more problems I’ll leave for another day such as frequent under elevation against air targets etc.
Same here. Have to compensate the direction, without V marker…
Been running some more test drives, and the results are disturbing…
Pr206 w 30mm Ak-230: accuracy decreases with speed. Initially feel is that the ‘easy aim’ mechanic has been reverted. However…
Jaguar (140) w 40mm MEL58: no problems. Regardless of own/target speed shells land consistently within an expected radius around the aim point.
USS Ashville w 3" Mk34: Terrible! At 2km,40kts, and 45deg angle - shots aimed at the stationary Z22s centre hull funnel were hitting the bow and stern turrets. [OTO 76mm and similar guns across the fleets exhibit the same issues] Meanwhile the stern mounted 40mm Bofors mk3 was perfect.
HMS Grey Fox w 76mm QF 20cwt - no problem, possibly because this is a variant of a land based gun!?!
Conclusion - VERY BROKEN. The greater the relative crossing speed the worse the aiming compensation. If there is no manouvering or speed change the rounds should walk back to the desired aim point, except currently they don’t. The only reliable method is heading bow/stern to (0/180deg) and hope the target doesn’t manoeuvre which h is severely limiting. This is not the old NAB aiming, it’s worse as it is inconsistent across vessels and weapons.
My advice - avoid 3"/76mm coastals, in particular the Japanese upper tiers that rely heavily on these as main, or sole, armament. Only the Russian gunboat, eg Pr1124, and a small cache of others with using modified army guns seem immune (atm).
whole list is here
Im aware of the changes, but I went further than just shouting ‘it’s broken’ and ran some proper tests. It’s hard enough getting Gaijin to fix any naval issue, even more so without explanation and proof.
The changes were not applied evenly across the board - Eg Jaguars MEL58s are not affected, yet the same guns on Koln is. And it’s not primary vs secondary because swap out the Jaguar for Pr206 (both 4.3 German) and the aiming is different.
Inconsistency is worse than all-or-nothing. This is the second major change to naval aiming in recent times, the second that feels untested and unnecessary - but at least NAB ‘easy aim’ was applied to everything at the same time unlike this mess where as this undoing is piecemeal nonsense.
Usually they fix major naval bugs in 2-3 weeks so players will enjoy it some days more, considering that only one week passed.
Yup, confirming that the Mitscher is affected by this bug.
Still not fixed - unbelievable.
Was just in battle in Chikugo…good for 1minute, then it was bug time with horrible aiming at fast coastals…at 4km++
Sadly at the german Parchim (4.0 BR) the same bug.
tried to aim with 57 mm AK 725. artillery cannon. No Aiming, available in test and arcade mode even AI chatbot confirmed me its a bug and led me here.
Why are you blaming me?
I own the North Dakota.
