NATO and Warsaw Pact are swapped in EC

,

I noticed that Blue and Red teams are swapped in EC. NATO team always has to destroy NATO ground vehicles, while Warsaw Pact team always has to destroy Warsaw Pact ground vehicles. You can also notice this with spawns. For example on Afghanistan, NATO always spawns in the north and Warsaw Pact in the south, the opposite of what it should be.

Sometimes there are NATO ground vehicles on both sides.

I’m astonished that it hasn’t been fixed yet, given how easy it is to fix it.

Theres no warsaw pact and nato in game, only wt mix.

I know, stop splitting hairs. Blue side, red side, whatever, you know what I mean.

Well, I agree insofar as I also think that it should be rabdom on which side of the map the teams spawn. Not only would it be more fair, but also more interesting.

Well yes, but at the same time spawning always on the same side is kind of cool. Spawning always on the same side makes that side feel like home, the only place you always come back to with a given nation on that map.

My biggest issue with the teams being swapped is having to always drop bombs on Abrams tanks on Sinai with U.S. planes, while seeing T-80s on your side shooting at those Abrams tanks…

In the mission editor it would take a while, as you’d need to change every individual vehicle on the map as far as I’m aware, but yes I do think they should fix it.

Another thing they should change for sim (specifically the Denmark map, idk any other high tier NATO vs Pact sim map that fits) is the ships. Having ships is cool but its less cool when you realize that you, in your 1970s/1980s fighter bomber, is bombing a destroyer from 1937. There is modern destroyers/cruisers in the game, not the missile-slinging type (yet) but at least the radar-emitting and gunlaying type: such as the Gearings, Mitschers, USS Pittsburgh, USS Newport News, the Albatroses, the Kolns, HMS Peacock, HMCS Terra Nova, and a few others for the Blufor side; and the Pr.56s (although I would wait on Bravvy for now) the Pr.68s, the SKRs, and probably a few other coastal ships on the Redfor side.
I think those kinds of ships would be cooler to see than the current WW2 cruisers and destroyers, and would make the missions feel more “simulator-y,” especially seeing as modern carriers and merchant ships now spawn on the maps.
Speaking of carriers, the US carrier is normally on the Redfor side on the Denmark map, while the British carrier is on Blufor. I understand why they did it, as Redfor doesn’t technically (historically) have a proper catobar carrier, but they could get the modified Baku (INS Vikramaditya), Kuznetsov, Orel (Project 1153, never laid down), or Ulyanovsk (Project 1143.7, laid down, scrapped); although of those, only the Orel actually possessed catobar capability, the rest were stobar and would not play nice with any Blufor naval aircraft that happened to be present unless they were stovl capable, like the Harriers.
