Multipathing isnt working consistently

I came to the conclusion , after many games and being somehow experienced in air rb, that the multipathing system isnt working as intended , you always have to gamble and you can never be safe 100%. This isnt a one time thing , i have many instances where my plane is exceptionally low on altitude to avoid the radar missiles, but its just not working properly. I get that there is blast damage from the missile but MiG-29 isnt the biggest airframe in the game . I had this problem on the past with F-16 and Mirage 2K, planes that are “small” and should have less problems with blast damage . As i said i think myself experienced enough to go low and keep the plane low , i know the height where you can dodge is lowered and i try to get even lower. The last game i played got me really nasty (i will have some screenshots below) . In my opinion there are problems in calculating the height of the plane on “rough” terrain . Gaijin should either fix the height that you can get hit by a missile or remove it completely so we stick on cranking and notching , because there is no way of consistently closing the gap between the enemy plane and having a relative protection . Skill of staying low is not being taken into consideration and i think that i am getting punished in a way out of my control .

here are 2 angles of my plane :

it can be seen in photo that the altitude is 607 ft, but your plane has clearly few meters above ground. under the tree level.
you are right!

flying too low negates the multi path defense because there is not enough room to bounce the ghost return. you have to be just under the 60 meters or 197 feet above the ground. This one you are too low for the ghost return. This map specifically i think has wrong calibration for altitude as flying just over the water it will still show you 200 ft or so when you are about to hit the water which makes no sense.

yeah i get that you cant just stick direclty to the ground because of no reflection , also i never had problems above water (its working fine), but still its not clear what altitude is safe and whats not

that’s barometric altitude, above sea level. it doesn’t match his altitude relative to the ground because it’s not supposed to.

in warthunder that barometric altitude is not really usefull.
the altitude above ground can be measured with a radar altimeter. all modern planes have that.
or at least the option to set the altimeter to 0 when take off. (i don’t think we have that option in WT, i may be wrong here)

Thats because its his alt over sea level, not the ground, although we should have a radar altimiter option
