Moving 2s38 to 10.7 is such an atrocious decision

To then, sit there and do nothing. Because the peashooter is literally incapable of penning most everything unless it’s fully side on to you. And after two hits to the turret you’re usually out of ammo. Oh and any HE to the turret or MUSS cone instantly kills it. Same for many ATGMs. Which you can absolutely and do absolutely meet at that BR.

I’d trade you the PUMA instantly for the 2s38. I doubt you’d do the same. One is massively more played for a reason. And it aint the PUMA.

PUMA has one of the better protection against autocannons and it can definitely stop some 30mm rounds.

Just for you to know, the 2S38 gun still don’t overheat…

Which means that you can fire your 148 shells at once

+the DM is bugged, resulting in 23mm HE dealing fatal pressure damage with just 1 lucky hit if placed correctly on the normal deck

You are slower and taller than leo2s and abrams so gl with that

What exactly do you have trouble “believing in”. 2s38 is slower than leo2s and abrams (FACT), which means that you cannot flank, and your survivability is too bad for frontal engagements (3 crew members in front of a carousel of ammo). Your rate of fire is nothing to write home about (0,5s) which means that you cannot disable cannon barrels reliably.

You can flank but you need to expect that your enemies can get there before you, which puts you at a disadvantage.

Getting in a good hull down position with that gun depression is also a problem. Even if you find something you can get ammo racked or die to overpressure from HE/HEAT.

Just a reminder that there are 8 Leopard 2a4s in the game which absolutely flood the matchmaker at 10.7

These are the top 6 most played tanks at 10.7 if you don’t include USSR.

From 10.3 to 11.0 2S38 is, simply put, plain mediocre at flanking due to it’s limited mobility.

Yep and he thinks he’s so smart making that “meme” response

Meanwhile OTOMATIC is at BR 11.3 and is much weaker than 2s38

OTOMATIC:
Disadvantages:

  1. High profile reduces survivability
  2. Ammunition stored anywhere inside the turret and hull; if hit, you will explode, greatly reducing survivability
  3. Can only carry 12 APDFSDS shells, so you are unable to pose a threat

Advantage:

  1. Only good at destroying helicopters

2s38:
Disadvantages:

  1. Nobody

Advantage:

  1. Low profile, high survivability
  2. Amphibious vehicle, high mobility
  3. More Faster than the OTOMATIC
  4. More mobile than the OTOMATIC
  5. Can perform scouting despite being an SPAA, but Gaijin has classified it as a light vehicle to give it this additional bonus
  6. Cannon never overheats, can continue firing indefinitely.
  7. Can target both aircraft and helicopters, as in real life it was designed as an SPAA and in the game it can also perform that role despite being classified as a light vehicle, so the 2s38 can perform scouting.
  8. It can carry 148 APDFSDS. Enemy vehicles that the 2s38 struggles to penetrate with its frontal armour can be easily neutralised by destroying their tracks and gun barrel with extreme simplicity since his cannon can fire continuously without overheating, allowing you to safely flank the enemy and then destroy it.

Now I bet you’ll use the excuse of greater penetration of OTOMATIC shell, despite the OTOMATIC only having 12 APDFSDS rounds, which makes it totally useless in battle.

The truth is that the 2s38 is a “pay to win” vehicle.

Dude. Just because the otomatic is overtiered garbage doesn’t make the 2s38 any better by proxy. Also nice chatgpt arguments lol.

My brother in christ you are the one deciding where you go with a vehicle.

In reality, the 2s38 is better than the OTOMATIC. It is a vehicle that can comfortably stay at BR 11.3 and still perform well. The only reason it isn’t is because of “pay to win”. Also dreams are nice, but they remain dreams. I suggest you come back down to earth and touch the grass. ;)

It literally can’t, PUMA can be front penned by regular 30mm APDS. Not even APFSDS but regular APDS. It shouldn’t be able to, but it can. The entire side can be lol penned by it, and the back by 50cal. This isn’t 2022 when it had realistic armor anymore.

Are we playing the same game ?
30mm APDS will struggle with PUMA frontally and even from the sides, provided you’re angled a bit.

30mm APDS will absolutely cleanly punch through from the front in about 30% or some such of the area. Simple spray and pray works entirely fine against it. Hell AP-T does for crying out loud. How long have you not played the PUMA anymore?

This is 30 mm AP-T at 500 meter. The protection map isn’t even accurate as you can see by mousing over. It can punch through in several areas. Because according to GJN the front of the PUMA has virtually no armor.

APDS and APFSDS have way higher pen. And angling? This isn’t low BR high distance engagements in relatively slow vehicles. PUMA armor has been nerfed to absolute absurdity. Because GJN is convinced that “protected all around against 30mm APFSDS” translates to "has 30mm of protection against KE.

And the composite armor at the back, meant to protect crew and six dismounts against 30mm APFSDS doesn’t even provide enough armor to defend against a Chaffees 50cal.

The area you’re aiming at would just make the round get eaten by the power train.

I’ve moved my mouse around and plenty of that UFP is either red or does very low damage, as explained above. Saying it has no armor against 30mm APDS is just an exaggeration and is quite ridiculous.

Angled PUMA hull is problematic to 30mm darts from the BMP-2M, let alone APDS.
It has really good side armor and even a slight angle would make APDS non-pen.
