Yeah I know, but it’s also an entire BR lower.
US chaparral could easily move to 9.0 and the Israeli one to 10.0 or even 9.7.

Strela should be moved to 9.7, it’s way better than US Chaparral. I think gaijin can add MIM-46 mauler after the chaparral and move chaparral to 9.0
this is what type-81(c) looks like when it’s facing 11.0+
now this is a Z-10 that already dead(by kill feed), but still flying. about 4km away, near the ground.
imagine this is KA-52, 50, AH-64, AH-1Z, ect. you will be, and i meant it, just a decoration. cannot even lock anything.
I was forced to watch as a t129 destroyed my entire team while in a type 93. while its not quite a type 81, it has nearly copy paste seeker qualities
and it was all because he was 5-5.5km away
Yea, these helis are un-targetable when 3km away and flying low where phot contrast wont be able to see it. Only way to kill a heli is if it gets its other missing missile or these helis play dumb and fly high enough where photo contrast is able to see it to lock on them without the background such as heavy clouds, mountains, trees wont block or confuse the system. It’s varies on the maps and weather. Missing missiles will help a lot and become more effective with a 15km range to kill helis 100% and jets with GBUs at 10+km away for 11.0 Br. For now, this thing needs to stay at 10.0 to balance the CAS lol I only mentioned 11br due to lack of vehicle line ups in 10br range.
Im just gonna throw this in here…
FlaRakRad has no guns to defend itself from ground threats, it is HUGE and can be spottet by everything easily has no armor and can be oneshot by HE or… anything else really… and it basically has no engine… you can’t even drive up the smallest incline…
Now thats 11.7 material
meanwhile pantsir same br
that being said, keep in mind those types of spaa have saclos and high amounts of he in the warhead. I’ve seen my friends defend from and kill mbts with the missiles. the type 81 is just like that, but a bit smaller, but it has absolutely zero forms of defense against ground targets.
If they add the up to date command guidance for the Type 81 then such a scenario as not being able to fire against helis near the ground should no longer be a problem if you can manage to lock them with the sight. We can only hope such a feature comes once vehicles equipped with FIM-92K’s get their datalink feature.
UTDC requires the FCS vehicle. Adding the ARH would fix the range and altitude issue.
There is also the CCD imaging seeker the real missile has that should replace the contrast mechanic. This would also remove the ground clutter issue.
Ah right, UTDC does require that, though even without the FCS vehicle the lightwave FCS can still launch the missiles on a pre-programmed course towards the target before the seeker acquires it. It would likely be effective for launching against helicopters and targets that don’t maneuver, since any serious deviations would likely mean the seekerhead doesn’t find the target since the course the missile was put on can’t be updated without the FCS vehicle.
No thanks, can’t deal with any helicopters at all especially when it’s stormy. Mi-28NMs and Ka-52s fling them off with easy even with an solid lock.
Rolands and Stormers actually have an fighting chance (Personally Stormer is actually very good and fun, especially against helicopters and high flying aircrafts, minus the splicing)
cas complainers when objectively strong SPAA
You’re so salty you had to comment some sad skill issue spam twice
Type 81 C will be moved to 11.0, which makes sense since there is no 10.3/7 line ups. 11.0 will team up with Type 90s/TKX (P). Am just a bit sad though, but it was too powerful at 10.0 I will say. Im still surprised that the strela will be moved from 9.3 to 9.7. The 10.0 would of been my pick since its that good as well.
FFS, the Type 81C has no business at 11.0!
You’re not locking on to helicopters that are more than 4km away.
And most important, you can have the best missiles in the game, but if you can’t see the darn enemy then you’re just toast.
You have no radar indication and con trails have been reduced significantly. A strike drone is very difficult to see too…and you need to know where they spawn.
Plus the Type 81 is a truck, it’s not easy to hide and the maps do not support any proper SPAA positioning that can’t be spawncamped but gives a relatively free field of view over the horizon and the sky.
This is such BS!
I hope this is forshadowing future changes to it.
Visible light imaging seeker instead of contrast, missile self locking after launch (basically pitbull launches) as well as the active radar homing missile with higher range would very much improve Type 81 (C) capabilities in future updates.
Maybe we’ll see one or even more of these changes in the next.
It’s also possibly they might even add a radar function as that was one thing the devs on the dev stream mentioned vaguely
If not already, maybe we should add that feedback to the BR changes thread. They give new ammunition when raising BRs all the time so the ARH could be one such thing.
It could also might be for the future too because if Fox 3s are coming in the next update or the one after, this would also be worked on to hopefully be introduced at the same time.
