Better than 68v5, equivalent to 68v7.
A source for something that’s effectively fiction? Sure… Let me get right on that xD
If you can find a source for its effective range against a target of ANY size, by all means, share it. Its only set information for the J/APG-1 is that it ranges from 6-18ghz.
If you can prove it’s good to begin with, and not equivalent to a mediocre radar that it was based upon, then by all means… Go ahead.
Yeah… No. TWS isn’t even functional in WT when compared to basic interfaceability of IRL TWS systems. It’s a struggle to follow 1 target in TWS in WT across most radars, let alone select and soft-lock MULTIPLE TARGETS while giving continuous guidance to multiple missiles… Not just see a certain amount of self-launched missiles on your scope.
Are you unable to read? The Rafale F3.3 most definitely does NOT have an AESA
There was only one source I read that compared the prototype J/APG-1 as slightly worse than APG-63(V)1 and APG-68(V)7, F-15C and F-16C respectively. We already know the production J/APG-1 is better and of course the J/APG-2 is better than J/APG-1.
Real life doesn’t matter here? Not sure what you’re trying to get at lol. For game purposes AESA doesn’t matter so its features modeled or not won’t matter at all in the current ARH meta. Only thing that would change it is 2 way datalink (which was confirmed as being intentionally disabled for gameplay) and ARH missiles with AESA seekers like AAM-4B.
It would appear you are the one who needs to read and catch-up to the current news…
if you use sensor view in a replay, you can see the missile go from trk to iog+dl and back to trk if they notch the missile but not you. heres an example with timestamp:
it absolutely does phone home and use the radar on the jet
Either something changed or that’s a bug. Maybe @k_stepanovich can answer once again if Fox 3 missiles can go back from TRK to IOG+DL instead of just IOG as their previous answer said it should not only be able to go to IOG.
Really wish to riot. I mean, F-2A’s ONLY feature was radar. And now they want to add plane with more ARH missiles, better airframe, more air-to-ground payload AND AESA radar. What a joke…
Peak Gaijin moment
I know that as Chinese main I cannot complain, since J-10A and Mirage 2000 was added in the last few updates, but J-10B is something comparable to EFT and Rafale and yet Gaijin mysteriously seems to have delayed it.
F-2A and J-10B would have made sense for this update as well.
I mean, there’s also the whole thing about being just about the most agile “F-16” derivative, known for up to 12G FCS limit and some more fun stuff like Maneuver Enhancement and Decoupled Yaw like F-22/35 have.
Which would be a great entry into a dogfight niche at top tier if it had HMD to properly make use of it
Gaijin already made the mistake to basically skip this aspect of the F-2 in favor of arguing how advanced the radar would be, but then just decided to implement AESA in a way that it isn’t even as big of a change and implement ARH missiles in a way they barely even rely on datalink anyways. Now it is limited to being some niche aircraft probably just under top tier.
Just about the only good thing about the F-2 delay is that we might get an F-2A / J-10B/C teaser, and that is only in the unlikely case they won’t give the US another teaser feature, this time for their F-18…
Imagine if the trailer they showed F-2A merging with J-10B like they did in Air Superiority trailer, which would be sick. Unfortunately I don’t expect that kind of treatment for vehicles of minor nations, lol.
