Depends on what it gets. But should have laser guided JDAMs at least.
If we get the variant with Sniper pod we can have L-JDAMs like on the recent Tornado. Basically GPS guided and laser guided and gen 3 thermal targeting pod

No fire and forget munitions? Japanese CAS is really sad
Technically GPS guided is fire and forget with the option to correct it midflight
There is also ASMs but not sure if they can hit ground targets yet

Lack of information so far. All there is on HMD for F-2 is that it was considered for future upgrades iirc, while no HMD has been seen on any F-2 so far, including AAM-5 equipped aircraft.
There is still a chance there is some basis to at least a prototype HMD since it was considered (maybe this is something DMM could find), but it’s not used in service and it’s most likely it just doesn’t exist.
Show me that F-2 has it

I’m still on the fence about them being equal, but Rafale F3 also lacks its radar on dev.
No, F-16A has better loadout of 8x Mavericks.
F-2 would be a good overall multirole though.

Depends how you see it.
F-15J(M) is faster, has double the countermeasures, more flexible Fox-3 loadouts and HMD, while F-2 is more agile and has a superior radar and guided CAS armament. I’d say it’s at best a sidegrade for air to air depending on the impact the radar has, but a superior multirole.

They are NOT gonna put a supersonic fighter, with decent ARHs and an AESA radar any lower than whatever top tier is at right now.
F-15JM, C, Mashupar, E, and I all share the same weapons.
The ONLY notable difference between the three is E and I accelerate faster in a straight line while giving up energy retention due to heavier masses. Both in empty mass, and requiring more fuel to feed the hungrier engines.
Like an F-104S vs F-4E.
