i know that there are ways to make skins on the 3d model itself, but i dont know how to
I haven’t the faintest idea. But I need a break.
Blender, the open source 3D program can probably let you mess with textures while looking at the model change in real time; but it will require extraction of the model (which I’m not sure is even possible/allowed) and advanced knowledge of the program.
Edit: now that I’m thinking about it the simplest way to get a faster method of previewing your modified skin is to make each revision a new copy of the userskin, then use the in-game option to refresh the folder and use the new skin after any changes to quickly view how any changes look on the aircraft

Played a few matches, this is how it looks so far. (I only did the nose section, the rest is a different user skin I’m using as a template.)
Now It’s time to put the wings on.
Hopefully the next message I send, the wings will be done, and it’ll all be smooth sailing. 🙏

It was in a userskin.
I found one with the files for the pylons & drop tanks (since if you just make a skin folder in game it won’t add files for those)
it would have been so much more funny if it was from gaijin
