XAAM-4 is just AAM-4 w/ less G overload (-5Gs).

Small update regarding XAAM-4; Thanks to recent research, we have reason to believe that the XAAM-4 was limited to 20G maximum load, which was later increased to 25G in (pre-) production. This means that even if the AAM-4 will be fixed (reports) and thus probably harder to balance in relation to this Aircraft, the XAAM-4 will still be more likely to correspond to a currently estimated BR of ~13.0.

Just tested it out, the significant change of this update is making them from 80% useless to 100% trash. Now instead of the water line they will locked on the top of the superstructure, and the weird thing is they got some weird capability to hit the thing before they reach it. There are few times I receive the damage animation before they hit the target, I still can see the missile flying in front of me

Its an side effect of gaijins dodgy modelling of ship hitboxes. it effects everything trying to lock ships not just asm-1 & asm-2, basically gaijin have everything targeting centre of a hitbox that spreads over the entire ship, including the mast, not centre of mass. this results in the missile targeting the super structure or just above the superstructure

Then IDK, but I can 100% sure there definitely new bug on the asm after I try it last time which is the day they updated. A least last time they didn’t have the superpower that allow us to know the damage before they even reach the target 😅

the TWS is weird for me, I lock a SU-30SM thats 15km out to the left (tws picked it up to lock)

when I go to lock it, it locks something else entirely thats not even close to that plane i locked

How would it be worse than say the Asraam in terms of maneuverability, I thought the only problems it would have is energy really because of the anemic motor.

the f2a currently in service doesn’t use the aam5
only the f2a adtw uses it and the f15j

F-2A can operate the AAM-5 however the AAM-3 is enough for the task, making AAM-5’s usage not really important
