serious videos trying not to have amazing music challenge: impossible
Yea, I’ve also been running 4/4 and have had similar experiences. Though with F-2, I’ll be running 2/4 as it’s the classic ace combat look
So dev server is now closed and we never got to test the IR ASM-2 nor we got answer about it being capable of locking on tanks…
Pretty dissapointing
Dev blogs simply states for naval targets so i doubt it
Tho ASM-1 was able to hit tanks with help from radar but idk.
If you can find smb who’s just going into notch without launching missile into the enemy… In a 1v1 situation usually it’s you launch missile, your enemy launch missile, you both go into notch, then repeat. Until smb run out of missiles or make a mistake.
I think on F-2 you shoud not go into BVR at all. You need to flank, go into more close fight and use your slow speed and 14G overload for fast defense when you and your enemy trade your missiles.
So, you base your opinion about kfir on a gameplay of top players? It’s so… “Unbiased”. By definition they can perform better on it. It’s like watching Smigol videos of how he goes into dogfight on bombers and think, that everyone can do this and perform like him. I don’t even mention, that if you watching videos, these players can simply include only good battles. Also, if you count all good players in AS tournaments it’s gonna be, like, FIFTY of them? For the whole game.
ASM-1s track any moving target on ground and water, but they are super unreliable on tanks, loosing lock and missing 90% of the time, the idea for the ASM-2s IR to work on tnaks its to have a reliable lock that would track until the end
It will depend entirely if they wish to allow its IR seeker to find and hit tanks
Yeah, im just dissaponited that the dev server ended and we never got to know for sure, and that being the only thing keeping me from preordering the ADTW
Im curious if maybe sniper pod could help but i dont think ASM-2 can be slaved by the pod
Even in 1 vs 1, depending on distance, the longer you can hold lock and give an accurate DL against someone who has already notched is still going to be useful before you notch. It happens enough on my F-15J(M) and a better radar that held the lock for a second more or consistent lock would have made the difference. After all, if you fired first, they’re forced to notch and go defensive immediately or trade with you and you can still decide to defend yourself if they decide to trade
I agree. Use AAM-4s to force people into defensive flying or take out people who are flying at altitude and use your guns/AAM-3 for everything else
How else would it be slaved? If it’s IR guided using radar doesn’t sound right either
There will likely be a 2nd dev server round.
Why did they close the dev server anyway? They kept it going for over a week, updated daily. One of my bug reports on the Tan-SAM kai was even flagged as fixed right as the dev server closed.
I think if there was they’d announce it already, but who knows.
They generally close it the week prior and release update the next week while working on it over the weekend. It’s pretty standard stuff. Very rarely is dev server running into the week of the update. Sometimes they open up a second server, but that has also been very rare. Usually it’s one week long dev server and that’s it
It’s literally six months or a year behind.
They leave an upgrade, but the F-2 doesn’t. The only one is that there is an AAM-5 but no HMD.
Im not sure about that, the update is suppsed to be this month isn’t it?
Also this dev server was pretty long since it got extended
If there is a second one, i hope both ASMs are ready and can be properly tested then
According to the ASM-2 text on the Japanese Wikipedia, it appears that a modified ASM-2 was used as an ultra-low altitude target for the AAM-4 and AAM4B.
If this information is true, it would mitigate the multipath effects of AAM-4 and AAM4B.
Does anyone know the details of the AAM-4 or AAM4B test details?
Multipathing is more of a balancing/ gameplay thing, it is not really that accurate
Thanks for the reply.
Is it what management said that multipath is used to balance the game?
Also, on the Dev server, the F-2 radar’s surface ship search mode could only detect destroyers and other vessels, which are considered to have a larger RCS than aircraft, within about 40 km.
Is this also used to adjust the game balance?
- Multipath is a standart parametr that is just set by devs not an individual thing for each missile.
- I don’t know how exactly surface-directed search works in war thunder nor in real life really, might be just a temporary limitation, might be an actual radar limitation

Is this TURE ???

On the other hand, there are also opinions like this.
I confused.
