BVVD stated on the russian dev stream that there is no F-2 planned for this patch, “possibly this year”.
Outdated plane is more outdated
Cool
sad😔
All is lost…
Rip
Maybe they’re confusing Mitsubishi F-2 with Mitsubishi X-2? There’s just no other reason.
It’s gonna be fun xdd

… after a while
Well guess im sitting out this patch or just going to hunt SU-30 and F/A-18 if i ever see them appear infront of me
They better let us use the ASMs like Kh-38s just to throw us a bone or something…
If it’s gonna be kinda mid at A2A meta, just give us really good CAS capability to compensate
If they doesn’t want to add F-2A so bad, thry should at least consider adding AAM-5’s to the current F-15. Thrust vectoring short range rockets could be nice to be seen.
And then they would have to put it at 15.0 since AAM-5B has LOAL, IIR seeker with insane IRCCM and about triple the range of other IR missiles we currently have (except for R-27Ts).
It really sucks that Gaijin can’t get its act together to deliver a plane that should’ve come immediately after the abomination that’s the F-16AJ.
We are very unlikely to get the F-2 late, so now we have to wait again for an F-2 with only four JDAMS, probably NO ASM-2s at all, AIM-7s instead of AAM-4, no Sniper pod, etc.
I seriously don’t understand their problem.
With the dev server open, there is still no F-2. Big rip
Probably?))
Tbh looking how F-2 is outdated, the ASM-3 is already needed as 3 machs JDAM
If we do get ME and the ability to turn off G limiters that could be very powerful.
In ME mode F-2 can turn sharper than with MLC, while also pulling less AoA, meaning it would remain stable for longer before reaching critical AoA. Combine that with an aircraft that even in MLC mode should be more agile than the F-16s in game, being a little better than Block 10 assuming equal fuel and weapons load (even if Block 10 min fuel is lower for the theoretical) and should have higher critical AoA as well, and the F-2 will actually be really agile.
Though this all depends on Gaijin making another additional toggle only for the F-2 to let it enter a rather complicated control scheme…
Maybe a system that might work is something you can progressively cycle, like flaps (combat, takeoff, landing) or full real control (dampening, partial dampening, none)
Having the full capability unlocked for the F-2A is the only way to ensure that the most iconic modern Japanese aircraft isn’t dead on arrival. Hell, I’m still irked that the AAM-3 and AAM-4 is still artificially tweaked to meet the current meta. Maybe Gaijin can buff those too by the time the F-2 arrives
Yeah, that’s the automatic flaps we have now and the limiter toggle added next update that turns dampening off. MLC is already implemented for F-16s, but is permanently baked into the FM rather than actually being related to the flap movement.
So F-2 with MLC is no issue in game and would likely be implemented without problems.
But when switching from MLC to ME this would become a problem. You can’t “turn off” MLC when it’s permanent in the flight model, so that is already the first issue, but ME itself might be difficult too. In ME mode the elevators aren’t the main pitch control surface anymore, but the main wing is through the use of the leading and trailing edge flaps, similar to really big canards essentially.
This way, F-2 in ME mode doesn’t push the tail down to turn, but instead pulls the plane up into the turn with additional lift.
This is a completely different way of controlling the plane, and might be difficult for Gaijin to model. But who knows, maybe perfecting it is why Gaijin is taking so long.
Yeah, without ME I feel like flight performance will be underwhelming, and I doubt it could match the Eurocanards on MLC alone.
Would be nice to see AAM-3 and AAM-4 fixed too though as a way to make up for limited weapon loadouts of 4 + 4 (IR + ARH / ASM if we get any) and lack of HMD. Maybe the debatable outer underwing MRM or the inner pylon ASMs could be added too, but those would still be lacking compared to Eurocanards or Su-30SM
So, F-2 is more or less confirmed this year update. I hope for the next update after this one, since Japan remaining the only nation without 14.0 plane. I think we might see both Early and Late versions in one update, smth close to what Gaijin did with F/A-18A and C.
The Early one suppose to have AIM-7, AIM-9L/AAM-3, limited air to ground armarment and no HMD. And BR about 12.7-13.0.
The Late version suppose to have AAM-4, AAM-3, all possible air to ground armarment (probably except ASM-3, but would be REALLY cool to see them) and HMD. Problem is, with just these, it’s max BR is 13.7. So, Gaijin might add another cool feature. Maybe they up AAM-4, so they gonna be superior Fox3 and get 4 kills from 4 missiles. Maybe they gonna add ECM, so plane gonna be kinda of invincible for enemy Fox3 (but EF and Rafale should also get it then), maybe even AAM-5 with limited performance and only some of it’s real features. LOAL only for example. It may help F-2 to be real 14.0 plane
The issue is in missing HMD on any version of F-2
