Other websites to say the same but most of the sources they used are chinese source and i have a hard time believing they are legitimate sources
The people in the forums say they have sources but most of the time those sources and images arent really related to the J/APG-2 specifically
Yeah the only thing i can track it down to is a single chinese translation of a TRDI article (Which I honestly doubt exists, because I can not find it on any archives, or referenced by any JP sources). And even then it doesn’t even explicitly say it’s for the J/APG-2, it’s just an image of a “High power GaN Module”, which like, it is in the correct wattage and size to be believed for the J/APG-2. But the fact i can’t find it, and everything i can find is development by toshiba is…
According to an interview with Commander of ADTW, Miyawaki Toshiyuki. J/APG-2 uses GaAs.

The extended BR makes it a bit more sensible, but the AAM-3 still exists as just a long-range AIM-9M, and the AAM-4 is half-baked. It’s especially odd that a larger, more advanced seeker has the same pre-launch lock angle and field of view as the 9M. It’s also odd that it has faster servo motors but the same latency as the 9M. They used the 9M as a reference rather than the Magic 2 for some reason, so this mystery will likely never be solved.
This might be bad news—I didn’t see it in the latest budget report.

Instead, it featured a budget for introducing the AIM-120 production line.
That makes sense, F-35s are meant to operate AIM-120s.

It can be not included because of different status of project (on planning stage) or something? For example at this document is missing any mention of Type 10 APS/anti-drone programm but we wxactly know they are doing it So I would suppose that it is just until planning or early development or they just haven’t wanted to add it
