I didn’t know that multipath was not something that was set individually for each missile.
It looks like there will be no changes to multipath in this update.
As for the ship search radar, the one installed on ships made by FURUNO has a maximum detection range of 177km, so I would like the F-2 to be able to detect missiles at around 200km as well.
Pros:
4x4 missile loadout. AAM-4 and AAM-3.
Among the best fighting performance in the game.
AESA radar.
The best internal fuel amount for the platform.
Cons:
Slower due to the superior wing design.
Wing tanks are only really great for simulator.
40 meters for which missile? I ment not that current altitude is inaccurate but that all missiles in game has same parameter. IRL there pretty significan difference between AIM-7E and AIM-7M in minimum target altitude for example. It is also different in strenght depending on altitude
4х4 at this BR is not a good amount of missiles. It’s also a good dogfighter, but this is not “Among the best fighting performance in the game”. 120 CMs is ok. Not great, not terrible
There are no need to change MP it is already low enough
I can’t really find radar in question but I highly doubt the range. Surface-search radars installed on surface are limited mostly by Earth curavature. Even for really tall ships actual detection range wouldn’t be much higher than 50 km
Out of curiosity do you consider 240 also okay on F-15J(M)? I only ask since 120 at single pop is the same for F-2 in this context
Also, for what it’s worth, I’ve been using 4x4 on the J(M) with no issue either, granted I don’t engage in space climb BVR, like ever and never had to, even with EFTs and F-15Es dumping their loads at the start of the game
It appears that an incorrect bug report has been approved regarding the number of F-2 data link channels. This bug report misunderstands the number of components and the number of channels.
Another person who noticed has submitted a bug report, but it has not been approved yet. If this continues, the number of channels for the F-2 will go from 4 to 2. We must avoid the same situation as with the M735…

As far as I understand 96 NM is a maximum scale of the radar and doesn’t mean it will detect targets this far away neceserally. It will probably see land and birds if they fly high enough but it wouldn’t beat the horizon
Multipath has been in the game since radar missiles were added and its purpose is for balance
Irl multipath does exist but it was only effective against older sarh missiles because radars were not able to filter ground clutter and it made them unable to track targets that were flying low
This was later fixed with newer radars that could filter ground clutter and with the addition of better sarh missiles (aim 7m and r27 both came around the 1980s) the multipath altitude was reduced drastically since those new missiles were able to hit a target flying at extremely low altitude (bellow 100 meters)
From sources that ive read, the aim 7m had a multipath altitude of 10 to 5 meters
When arh started to enter service and then pesa and aesa radars also started to be equipped on jet multipath altitude was pretty much negated
I remember that during opening days of Desert storm one F-15 was able to succesefully track and kill Mirage F1 that was running away at extremely low altitude with AIM-7M. Rear aspect above the desert, which is as perfect for using multipath as it goes and a damn sparrow was able to land a hit, let alone more modern missiles
Yes, you won’t run out of flares, especially if you use separate keys for flares and chaff (well, mostly). But you also can’t use periodic flares a lot. Or just spam CMs sometimes. You actually have limited amount of CMs, you need to think about them.
As you say, it is impossible to detect targets that are not in the line of sight, and rain, high waves, birds, rocks, etc. are considered to interfere with radar scanning.
However, aircraft fly at high altitudes and have the ability to identify aircraft targets detected by radar.
So I would expect the F-2, which uses the same X-band as shipboard radar, to be able to detect ships at greater distances.
Thanks for the information.
I have heard that a US F-4 once fired a Sparrow against a ship during the Vietnam War.
The Sparrow missed its target, but a current ARH missile might hit a low altitude target.
Both sides may have different claims, but I didn’t know they shot down Mirage.
Will the management adjust the impact of the multi-pass?
I think adding AAM-4B and adjusting the impact of multipath would improve realism and make the game more tactical and better.
Remember that most people need to play few battles without chaff. Imagine this without ANY protection from Fox3. It’s gonna be terrible grind. Also, at SARH BR multipathing is the only real defense, because notch can be random, and most planes have very limited amount of CMs.
