Does anyone know when the the first JSI is supposed to be finished? I could only find that the JSI program is supposed to finish by 2030, but not when they expect first delivery.
Assuming deliveries of the first EPAWSS for prototyping went according to the original plan, late this year, if not we’ll probably see them mid next year, after the full delivery of materials for their conversions should start.
id imagine it would be easier if the US program for EPAWSS on F-15C got farther.
What should we expect from F-15J JSI? 8 AAM-4? New engines? IRST?
Basically just AESA radar and EPAWSS
As off now we expect; EPAWSS, JASSM(-ER), newer AIM-120s (maybe even D-3) and AESA Radar iirc - What else could be coming is either still up in air or speculation, though I hope it also gets the extra underwing pylons for AMRAAMs.
I wish the original engines are on their last legs and the F-15Js get upgraded engines (-229s), though I’m sure they still have plenty of life left, not to mention I’m not even sure if the -229s are drop-in replacements.
Can’t put -229’s on air superiority eagles
What’s the reason? Small air intakes? Too heavy?
It’s not impossible, but it does need extensive modification since the F100-229 or even the F110-129 engines are larger than the F100-220s on the F-15s.
It’d be nice to see it done anyways, especially the F110-IHI-129 already produced by IHI for the F-2, but it might not be seen as necessary enough to justify the cost of modifying such a large part of the fuselage.
External diameter is the same for all of them, GE-129 is allegedly shorter which could cause the intake area and programming to change.
Hmm… I tried to look where the information of the size difference came from and there just doesn’t seem to be a source at all.
They require a common engine bay only found on later build F-15’s like the E, K, SG, SA, S, QA, and EX due to some size issue or other limit.
Just clarifying, BOL is not possible on any Eagles except for US ones, due to them being the only ones to receive the Mods for ALE-58 usage. It is not just as simple as if it uses LAU-128 it is BOL compatible, it requires additional wiring to be done.
The only export Eagles that might be BOL compatible are the ones Israel bought secondhand a couple of years ago from the USAF but it would be on tail number basis and none of you would have access to the documentation showing which TCTOs those aircraft had done.
Can this plane detect an AESA radar lock?
All modern rwrs can detect aesa locks in game. So yes this plane can detect aesa lock
I wish the plane had the right radar warning reciever.
So. Right now it has the J/APR-4, which is the exact same as the APR-4 in game, issue:
- The J/APR-4 is NOT an APR-4, at all.
- The F-15J(M) does NOT even use the J/APR-4, it uses the J/APR-4B, which is an upgrade of the upgraded J/APR-4A.
So basically, yeah it should be better then the APR-4, considering its a twice upgraded version of a newer RWR.
Is there any difference in the rwrs? Like band coverage or elevation coverage?
Nothing known lol, but gaijin just treats newer = better for RWRs so it doesnt really matter.
