Mitsubishi F-15J

All modern rwrs can detect aesa locks in game. So yes this plane can detect aesa lock

I wish the plane had the right radar warning reciever.

So. Right now it has the J/APR-4, which is the exact same as the APR-4 in game, issue:

  1. The J/APR-4 is NOT an APR-4, at all.
  2. The F-15J(M) does NOT even use the J/APR-4, it uses the J/APR-4B, which is an upgrade of the upgraded J/APR-4A.

So basically, yeah it should be better then the APR-4, considering its a twice upgraded version of a newer RWR.

Is there any difference in the rwrs? Like band coverage or elevation coverage?

Nothing known lol, but gaijin just treats newer = better for RWRs so it doesnt really matter.

The other thread got closed so do you know if the F15J(M) is missing its rear MAWS for Fox2 and whether this is a bug or devs’ decision?

Yes it should have it and is a bug that it doesnt, but a correction from that thread. Its a doppler based system not an IR one. Japan didnt start developing IR / UV based MAWS until 2014~

So the F15JM we have in game is MAWS for fox1 and fox3 from behind only? And the newer MAWS is rear for fox 2 only or all?

MAWS works for all approaching objects from the read hemisphere, even things like rockets. (And as its also listed more generally as an approach alert receiver, even hostile fighters.)

That being said, no, it doesnt have sensor fusion in the model we have in game, although there is a variant with an imrpoved RWR that does get sensor fusion for it, which im actually working on writing a suggestion for.

Ok thanks for clearing things up.

Is this for the F15J super interceptor or is there another variant that you’re talking about?

Im referring to the “F-15J J-MSIP Modernization Type 2 (Improved Self-Defense Capability)” as its fully upgrade title would be, or just F-15 Modernized (Revised) as something closer to its actual name

Basically, it was a rewrite of the Type 2 modernization applied to certain lot C-14+ aircraft, containing an IEWS (Integratted electronic warfare system), which has features like jaming, sensor fusion, increased rwr performance.

Visually distinct by a bump behind the engine inlets.
