Missiles are not hotter than jet exhausts

as the name of this thread, IR missiles should not go after missiles fired from the targeted aircraft, (unless its a non afterburning engine) as the heat signature of the plane should be larger than the tiny signature a missile has, so from side, up, down and rear aspect the missiles should ignore the fired missile and go for the aircraft itself instead of the missile.

Yes. From a game design perspective it should also be corrected.

Currently it leads to a lot of frustration on the attacker side, and barely any satisfaction for the defender. It’s essentially random and has no counterplay.

Bro facts belong to the factory

heat signatures in general need a huge rework cough cough f-5

i still find hilarious that the g91Y and the f5 share the same engines yet the g91Y has a bigger heat signature

its similar to how the f5 and the A10 seem to have the same damage model. F5’s just have an uncanny ability to tank damage, i remember one time i hit an F5C with an r3r, 2x r60’s and still it was able to rtb so i had to finish it with guns

But yeah i agree, missile’s decoy stuff far too often

See, gaijin will monkey paw you on this and also remove the ability for dumb rockets to create HEAT making flareless jets near unplayable

i mean you could potentially still do it but would need to activate at least a single extra braincell and turn off your AB

not if they do what I said

i doubt they would nerf the heat from the rocket motor of actual rockets that bad that its not even hotter than a non afterburning engine, but hey if they do honestly it would be for the greater good of everything else lmao

u clearly dont know gaijin very well, they monkey paw everything

haha your not wrong
