f-2 is a real life flop that we know nothing about gajin just said “well this looks cool lets make some stuff up so it can be in game”
Real life flop? It’s the first plane IRL to carry an AESA radar. It takes an F-16 airframe (already really good) and changes to composite materials for less weight and more strength. It extends the wings to reduce wing loading. And it adds an extra hardpoint to carry more missiles.

Take it to the F-2 topic if you wanna argue about how little we know. But trust me, as someone who’s read a massive amount on it, we know a lot about it, and what we have in game is roughly accurate, but underperforming in some ways.

To be fair, the post nerf PL-12 is still better up close than an amraam in game, and it has much more range compared to the r77 and can reach someone who is running away from a good bit further away. Time to target is not the only improvement.

I… despises R-27ERs so MUCH. Genuinely annoying to notch as I always think I notched them successfully then I get slammed 3 seconds later.

1s faster time to target above 25km travel time (around 30-40km locking distance). Trades a lot of maneuverability for this. Now its not as good in long range like aim-120 and not as good in short range like 77s.
Almost every 77 plane can carry 27ERs.

BVR is irrelevant. ER is mostly an anti-runner missile when carried on 77 platforms.
Thats because if they do get notched, they can still relock onto you because of datalink.

It’s a SARH with datalink and better range kinematics than most Fox-3s that’s capable of letting aircraft out-do Fox-3 slingers when used correctly
so they carry aim7Ms on a f14D??😭
I genuinely hate them so much, probably the SARH that annoys me the most whenever I see planes that can carry them lol
