Mirage 2000C ACM mode bugged?

,

So not entirely sure if this is actually a bug or not but the vertical ACM mode on the Mirage 2000C-S4 is pointed downward. Unlike other aircraft where the vertical scan mode covers the area in front and above the nose which is designed for dogfighting, the vertical scan seems to be pointed downward, which just seems illogical. The mirage 2000C-S5 uses the same Thomson-CSF RDI radar but I’m unable to confirm as to whether it behaves the same or not.

Mirage 2000C-S4:

Visually it seems to cover an area of -20° to +10°, which is useless in a tail chase dogfight as my opponent is not usually below the nose.

F/A-18 for comparison:

This DCS video showcases the vertical scan mode on the M2000C to cover an area of -10° to +50°, which is in line with other fighters. https://youtu.be/5mRhS0TE2Jc?t=84
Unfortunately I cant confirm these figures because I can’t find any official information nor understand French.

Does anyone smarter than me have any input here or is what we see in game correct?

Are you able to change it using these key binds and controls? (mine are not standard, double check what yours are bound to).

Or alternatively the new on-screen buttons:

That can be accessed using this key bind:

you cant slew ACM

it does, same for the 5F too

but not every plane has the same acm
modes, so the mirages not having a high scan angle acm mode doesnt necessarily mean a whole lot

Huh, i was sure i’d seen it done somewhere, my mistake, thanks for the correction :)

Maybe it’s only the frame.
Du you tried to lock above the edges?

It’s just that having a low angle on the vertical ACM seems pointless given its purpose in dogfights.

It can lock aircraft that are slightly above the box, but other fighters also behave like that.
