Are you in the loop regarding what aircraft will receive Fox 3’s? I’d like to Talisman the 29SMT now that it’s on sale, but only because I would love to fly that thing as a Fox 3 fighter, given it’s cool wide radar and capability to carry 6 R77’s.
if it wasn’t for the insane flight performance i would think we aren’t that far from an early Rafale with 6 missiles
They could fill the gaps with a Mirage MF2000. It has 2x MICA EM and 2x Magic 2s, 5% increased thrust over the regular Mirage F1C, has HMD, and RDY-3 radar which has a bit less range but more features over the current RDY radar as it is newer.
Unfortunately no, your guesses are as good as mine. I wouldn’t see why they wouldn’t give SMT its R-77s though.
it had it on the fox 3 test
If it also wasn’t for Mirage 2000-5Fs constantly getting buffed, then Gaijin might have been more pressed to introduce the Rafale. I would like to see them not handicap the Mirage 2000-5F if they truly think we need the Rafale.
fair enough will probably get the Eurofighter and Rafale regardless near the end of this year autumn time or winter, since i would imagine f15c f18c ect are right around the corner after this upcoming update
I don’t think Rafale/EF is this year personally.
Yeah, I just wish I’d known if it would actually get them… I need a grind-jet for Russia now that my Su25K can’t research rank 7+. Was thinking about talismanning the MIG29SMT, a jet I’ll actually enjoy with fox 3’s, but not without.
i have no idea if they will just add these missiles to the loadout or what there plan is
this plane would be good but it would still be seriously handicapped against its adversaries (2 Mica + a 3rd generation airframe which does not turn and accelerates as best it can), I really wouldn’t want to come face to face with a MiG-29 or an F-16 in a dogfight, that would be instant death.
I cannot find a source for the abandonment of the gun on the mk2, on the other hand we must not forget that the mica is a 50G missile with TVC, in a dogfight situation a possibility of firing can quickly present itself
It depends on what the BR would be I suppose, and don’t forget it should still be slightly better than current Mirage F1 due to the extra bit of thrust. It will also have HMD and Magic 2/MICA EM to help it in dogfights.
Two-seater variants of Mirage 2000s abandon the internal gun afaik. I cannot find a two-seater variant with an internal gun. And while MICA EM will be a nice dogfighting missile, multipathing exists still unfortunately, so a gun would be helpful for those low alt targets.
Does not change the logic behind Gaijin action if you put all variants of Mirage 2000-5 into one Mirage 2000-5 it give approximately the current M2K5F aand i don’t see a problem with it as it spares the existence of copy pastes planes that would have no interest.
I wish more people realised how bad multipathing is for gameplay… People aren’t making enough noise about it for Gaijin to nerf/remove it.
I’m probably skipping the talisman. Giving Fox 3’s to new aircraft we have to grind is totally something Gaijin would do.
Great picture, so in future updates we can hopefully carry 3x MICA EM, 1x DAMOCLES, 2x GBU-12, 2x AS-30L and 2x MAGIC II as a ground rb loadout.
is it possible to see aasm on any mirage 2000s because i know they did testing but that’s all i know
Testing was done on Mirage 2000N, so it’s far different from Mirage 2000-5s and Mirage 2000Ds. It’s said to be compatible and plug and play with the Mirage 2000Ds, but since we don’t have any pictures of it being mounted on it, there’s little hopes of it. Perhaps if France decides to mount AASM on the Mirage 2000D RMV in the future. But the AASM is pretty advanced, so I don’t expect to see it in-game for years just like Meteor. We still don’t have GBU-48 in-game yet, I’m hoping it’ll come on the rumored SEM plane that was discussed today.
