Nope, premium/event/squadron or nothing,… at some point France had no intent to upgrade it’s own mirage up to Astrac standard, and have nothing to do in Freemium TT
Currently F-20A at 12.0 BR and first premium pre-order pack aircraft in rank 8
I’m not sure premium at rank 8 max BR to 12.3 or 12.7
I couldn’t answer that in future major update first premium pre-order pack aircraft in rank 8 for france tree would be 11.7 or 12.3 BR
The fins were changed so that the Magic 2 can actually pull 35G at Mach 1.25 rather than waiting until it’s Mach 2 to do 35G. This essentially means the fins accelerate much quicker.
That is great news - but also shows that we fought with a MAGIMP-2 for about 2 years, while mostly having only 2 missiles on most airframes.
Sad that Gaijin is making so much difference in-between nations weaponnary,…
(As you said though, there is still 3 major bug-report that need to be implemented as well, can you give a hint on how those 3 should impact the Magimp to Magic-2? Like a technical resume)
issue is it will use the MICA, i don’t think it is right now a good idea to let a plane with such a new missile being a 75 bucks premium. I can’t see gaijin making this move until the next year.
Anyway, i think it should be on the tree because the plane is still 100% french design, is something a bit fresh over the usual Mirage 2000 and would bring a 2nd Fox 3 carrier until the Rafale come. It would be a perfect addition for the June update because it carry the new Mica em and is the only new plane available with this until the Rafale. (unless you want a sort of copy paste with the 2000-9)
it would also make the F1CT line a bit more interesting by having something quite unique at the end of the line. After all, it’s the ultimate Mirage F1 made by the French industry.
Exported Mirage 2000 however are not as unique as the F1 MF2000 so i agree they can be premiums. I think we all agree on the fact that making unique aircraft premiums, like the F20 per example, is a bad thing ^^
I think the next thing we will see is a change to 50G, but this is only when they’ll introduce combined manueverability along as a feature with AIM-54 as well benefiting from it. 50G should allow it to be used in a dogfight properly.
The last two changes are reductions in IFOV size, as well as seeker shut off, but they should allow you to use the Magic 2 in front aspect head-on against flaring targets.
possible Rank 8 premiums for France, at 11.7 - 12.0, are in my opinion :
- Mirage 2000C S3 (Late) ( if the 2000C-S4 and S5 move up to 12.0 )
- Mirage 2000EG ( i’ve chosen the greek one because of the RDM-3 radar and Super 530D )
- Mirage 2000D-R2 ( if the RMV is already added in the mean time )
this one i think is unlikely but i put it anyway, because why not ?
- Mirage 4000 (early), with M53-2 or M53-5 engines and maybe a worse weaponry.
Also, aren’t the Mirage 2000 EG able to shoot AIM missiles as well?
Hmmmm. Scratch that, it’s MICA or Magic only:
The article explains really well the various potential loadouts and radar differences between the EG and 2000-5 variants in Greek service.
Note: any combination of 6 MICA is possible (EM, IR and, in the future, NG).

MICA EM should have reduced smoke

MICA-EM spins out when launched at low speed
Here’s a nice visual representation of how much better the magic is after the maneuverability buffs, courtesy of Jaek_ over on YouTube.
I’m okay with this, but then UK should never get a Mirage or Rafale due to their indian subtree
At least HMD will matter now ^^"
And they don’t need those in their subtree
We don’t have a indian sub tree
For now, apart the Jaguar IS.
That would make alot of people mad
