Problem is how the Sim BR rotations are laid out. You have only one BR rotation where 14.0 planes shine.
And you can argue the 5F does not shine enough to justify its place, at least alone. It could have some more friends up there with moving some of the worst 13.7 offenders up, or moved down to 13.7 and make Ron mald and seethe.
Either way, as it stands now, its in weird place in my humble opinion.
I’d say the fm is def one of the better ones, only lacking in the acceleration and retention. Max speed is good (mach 1.5)

It is objectively better than the vast majority of 13.7s in defensive and offensive capability, only hampered by mid radar (also not unique issue to M2k, see non-aesa E2Ks and Su-27 types)
Its a radius fighter but its been power crept by most stuff.
F16XL does better in terms of FM, so FM vice its nothing special.
It is not helpless, but its whole reason to exist was its high AoA pull and Mica snapshot at close range. It used be alone in its ability to pull that off reliably at short ranges. Now, even 120’s have fair chance to counterfire at similar ranges and connect.
Í cant overstate how much the recent Fox3 change has changed the short range fox3 meta.
