Hello everyone and welcome to this new suggestion.
Today I’m presenting a new version of the Mirage 2000, produced and tested by France but which unfortunately never entered service: the Mirage 2000-5 Mk2.
In the early 2000s, Dassault produced two different variants of the Mirage 2000, namely the 2000-5F (exclusively for air combat) and the 2000-9 (a multirole version intended for the UAE). However, seeing the disappearance of the need for aircraft limited to a specific role and wanting to offer multirole aircraft, Dassault decided to modernize the 2000-5F into the 2000-5 Mk2.
The Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 is therefore a modernized Mirage 2000-5F with equipment from the Mirage 2000-9 and the Rafale, making it the most advanced version of the aircraft. This version will be produced in 74 aircraft, mostly retrofits for the Greek and Indian fleets, but also some newly built. In fact, a Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 will be the very last aircraft of the series to roll off the Dassault factory line before production ceased in 2007. This version significantly expands the range of missions in which the 2000-5F can be used, giving it anti-ship and close air support capabilities.
France expressed interest in the aircraft, and a Mirage 2000B was upgraded to this standard for extensive testing. This aircraft received French roundels and the traditional Mirage 2000 livery. Operated by Dassault and the DGA (French Directorate General of Armaments), it conducted several weapons tests, providing some images, but remained largely unseen. Unfortunately, despite the aircraft’s promising potential, it was not selected. France preferred to retain its Mirage 2000-5F fleet as its primary fighters and concentrate its budget on upgrading the Mirage 2000D, which would later become the 2000D RMV.

Characteristics
The aircraft’s dimensions are identical to those of other two-seater Mirage 2000B, since it is originally a 2000B
- Wingspan: 9.13 m
- Length: 14.36 m
- Height: 5.20 m
- Wing Area: 41.0 m²
Propulsion:
The Mirage 2000N is powered by the SNECMA M53-P2 engine, the same engine found on the oter Mirage 2000B, C, and D.
Equipment
This version of the aircraft is equipped with the various equipment already present on the Mirage 2000-5F, the only real difference being the replacement of the RDY radar by the RDY-2, a more powerful radar allowing to increase the detection range of targets (+15%) but also to designate maritime and ground targets.
Radar :
- Thales RDY-2
- Air to Air
- Air to Sea
- Air to Ground
RWR :
- Serval RWR

In the game, this aircraft would be the most advanced version of the Mirage 2000, available for both France and the entire game. This version would be a particularly interesting addition, providing an aircraft capable of performing any mission.
