look at efficiency without considering the thrust is pointless

Oh a new pfp
You went from being a woman to a man in my mind

if someone only already considered that

it wasnt, or if it was you convieninetly changed the numbers to fit your argument
and even then the Al-31 is more efficent

the Mig-29 has a specific fuel consumption of 0.21 on full afterburner and 0.1 at min afterburner

at full AB it burns 81,400 * 0.21 = 17,094kg of fuel per hour
and on min AB it burns 54,900 * 0.1 = 5,490kg of fuel per hour

the Al-31 has a specific fuel consumption of 0.19 on full afterburner producing 120kN of thrust meaning it consumes 120,000 * 0.19 = 22,800kg of fuel per hour

means on full AB the Al-31 produces 1.5 times the thrust and consumes only 1.3 times more fuel

but if you are not happy with that i have more graphs that show that the mig-29 isnt burning as much fuel ingame as it does IRL

1kg of fuel dosent cost 1$

and you convieniently increased the fuel burn of the Al-31
but hey why would someone show his calculations so that others see how you got there

pls don’t, it’s already bad enough

15kg of fuel per second at mach 1.1 on sea level

I don’t know what those values mean exactly so I’m just gonna ignore it

Bro😭🙏🏻

the max useable fuel load on the mig29 is 5680 liters

image

1 liter of fuel wieghs 0.785 kg
image

means that the mig has a max usable fuel load of:
5,680l * 0.785 kg/l = 4,458.8kg

4,458.8kg / 15kg/s ~297.254s of flight time at Mach 1.1 at sea level
or 4.954 minutes of flight time

but that is ignoring the fuel it took to get to that speed

5min of AB with drop tank is evil

it gets quite a bit better at alt

but the engines are still really inefficent compared to other designes

Btw what does TW-regime mean on the fuel chart? As well as (INA)

TW is short for Triebwerk
and Triebwerk is german for jet engine in this context
so translated it is engine regime

the NBmax means Nachbrenner max
which is Afterburner max translated

and INA is In Normaller Atmosphere
which is In Normal Atmosphere in english
(probably didnt really need to translate that one ngl)

I am german i just didnt know that they would say TW-regime but ina i couldve guessed tbh

so i didnt need to translate anything
