Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 2)

yeah the FM feels way more like the SMT rather than the earlier 9.13/12

9.13/12 can atleast keep some speed when turning but the 9.15 drops out like the SMT

At low speed it’s its own thing but at above 400 kph it’s a mess

Had worse energy retention than a Kfir in some ways

Something something wing loading, aircraft weight? I honestly have zero clue how War Thunder calculates such things.

Tbf I don’t know as well, but right now it’s terrible

It’s only a ton heavier than base 9.12 and it feels like 4 tons heavier…

I know that elevators being bigger is not taken into account, I’d love to bug report it, but we have no source to base my claim, aside from videos

problem is not proving that they are bigger IRL, problem is proving that they currently arent in-game, you can’t use datamined values for bug reports

because FM devs insanely Incompetent at aerodynamic and engine thermodynamic calculations
we can still see the r77 and r73/python4 shit drag and ef2000/rafale air intake with 0.96 pressure loss when mig29 have 0.9 even instead 0.91-0.92 irl

wdym just go into custom battle and line them up, then make screenshots with custom camera from playback or is there more to it?

No, i don’t mean visually, i mean that they are treated by game code differently. Different lift, drag, all this stuff. You can’t get those values any other way than from datamines.

Snail close your all seeing eyes

It is simpler then, record a keyboard input sequence and run it across multiple FM and record it, differences in velocity / altitude / acceleration would be from those values.

Detailed internals on MiG-29 are merely a suggestion it seems.

this is, apparently, fully armed and capable MiG-29 that managed to kill me with 27ER in this condition

Must have been the wind

That’s some heat resistant avionics, considering that fuel tanks right behind it are literally on fire. And, technically there is no power in the system because engines right now are in a bit of a pickle
Actually, scratch that

literal premium bias, gaijin forgot to actually code the avionics on a Sniper
Made a report on this shit, ngl this did tilt me quite a bit, considering that i was the last player on my team and had to fight this MiG and Kfir C.10 afterwards (if i didn’t die because of a lazy programmer)

That player’s MiG-29:

I believe premium Su-30’s also have this issue.

One of them managed to fire R-77 and killed me despite it was on fire missing both of its wings, engines and spinning.

Well, they at least have everything labeled and coded properly, so i guess you was just unlucky with the damage, weapon controls block is at the bottom left, so it might’ve been undamaged

IOG+DL+ TRK MEM is kinda trolling sometimes

Wouldn’t be surprised considering my luck.

Today was mess for example, I got tk’ed multiple times and enemy missiles that aimed for my teammates pulled last second move and killed me while i wad spading MKM.

Got so tilted I switched back to Norway F-16AM and spaded to use on GRB.

Well, the point is that he shouldn’t be able to fire in the first place, considering the condition of the airframe.

lol.

Yesterday I sent two R27ET from 12km’s on a AESA Typhoon that was landing, he tanked both of my missile, rearmed/repaired and took off again.

I was on 3 minutes of fuel and rtb while he caught me on the way, thankfully I still had one 27ER and slapped him with my last attempt right after dodged his spamraams.

my freakshow for today. For some reason people just can’t comprehend a concept of flares at 12.7 from time to time. And, well, Sparrows are quite goated, with my only complaint being their speed
