2007 → pre production series Mig35 with early radar - AE
2021 → Production series Mig35(s - serial***) with - AME
Serial as in whole 6 ahh frames and 6 prototypes… (also some shady stuff about supposedly being developed carrier adapter Mig35 but they are all from 2019 and surely nothing came out of it)
They are a bit sneaky with the Mig29 modification, if it is a just K then indeed it would have used Thales as Thales was tested and integrated for Indian Mig29K and then bought and ‘intergrated’ into Russian contract made Mig29K, but there are shady news sources that say that Mig29KR is being integrated from 2020 onwards with new gen ‘indegnious’ design HMD… and with only carrier being in ‘repair’ idk what they actually do with the planes…
(example - 'Французская «Thales» работает в интересах ВМФ России" to which multiple ‘news’ source into, reliable? - idk, most likely not, then there are some that start claiming from 2020 that Mig29KR now uses Russian Made, but the ‘news’ sources kinda political so i am not posting it here)
Ignore ‘Thales’ → then it is ‘Mig29K(R) Late’ that is being integrated with new gen ‘hmd’ but then the report from airshows / exhibiton with R27 would be kinda valid
Don’t ignore ‘Thales’ → Then it is essentially the Mig29K (Indian Navy) and yeah no R27…
Imo too much headache and naming bs simply name planes like this Mig29K mod 2007 and force ppl to do ‘suggestions’ to change it to mod 2017+ or mod 1989, and then reject them as you like
Even so, MiG-29K should have either Thales HMD or НСЦИ-КОС installed on MiG-29M 9-41SM and MiG-35 or nothing at all, because there is no indication in the cockpit of Schel-3UM or Sura-K sensors
I know, but i rather have it “proper”. There is technical compatibility with HMD systems, but i am not sure if there is compatibility with HMS systems.
Unfortunately - no, i am pretty far away from people that work in this industry. Most of my knowledge comes from diving into old forums, books and other media i can find
Out of curiousity - how does 29K fuel consumption looks in Dev, compared to other migs? I assume it a guzzler, considering engines are running on ‘FUCK IT WE BALL’ mode, but I wonder how bad it is.
Speaking about this, are we sure that FGA-50 and FGA-29 are different radars? From the interviews with Phasotron it seems that FGA-29 was not compelete at the time, they had to reduce amount of TRMs to fit it in the MiG. But they said that production version will be with proper amount of TRMS because MiG-35 avionics will be minituarised fruther, leaving more space to fit the radar. And with FGA-29 and FGA-50 having extremely similar array, i suspect that this is the promised “complete” version of Zhuk-AE
at 109% it is actually pretty manageable. At 110% it turns into good ol’ MiG-29 we know tho. All in all, 30 mins + fuel tank should be more than enough for a regular ARB game imo
