Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 Fulcrum - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 2)

there is also this thingie on top of the HUD that is missing and i have zero clue what is the purpose of it

no, i think main goal was to add something to target SPAAs and use in Nuclear Thunder events

It is a tik tok camera for fonk edits

i think this was some upgrade showed off by HAL

I am half joking, but how else to explain this POV

we could also look for the 29SMT, no?

since they apparently use the same MFD pages

same engine page in the 29SMT

image

and it appears to be a mechanistion page at the same time

they also need to implement the IR/TV MFD function
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/2LhUO5ofnyOQ

SMT should also be able to do that

same page on the Mig-29M2

i would assume it is safe to say that all the modern fulcrums use the same MFD pages

great find

issue is that the HUD is in the ILS mode
it would be better to have an image where it isnt in any specific mode

i know, continuing the search

found that Indian Ks also have the module above HUD

so what we know about that box:

  • no visible ports or sensors
  • it gets power for something

thing is that parts of that HUD image look pretty similar to what the indians showed of
image

copium in my blod says that this is some part of TopSIght, maybe the coil that measures head movement

could be

might also be some sort of antenna maybe
