So yeah, and when you start stating that R77-1 is similiar on close range as mica ( like in paper ) it starts to feel that you just look paper stats instead how those truly perform in game

Yes, I know they would get those too, but imo ASRAAM/IRIS-T + AMRAAM vs MICA IR + MICA EM is a lot more fair than Aim-9M + AMRAAM vs Magic II + MICA EM in terms of a WVR dogfight.
I personally reckon end of this year based upon tuning via the SAMs. Im doubting they’ll have that good of a seeker, but the kinematics will be a lot better.
As can AIm-9M, multiple in fact. Heck. Aim-9Ms still dont have accurate lock ranges, 3 year old report to get them more than doubled.

yes maybe, but those are already pretty high (Pk rate of a 9M would be better than Magic-2 at same BR- discounting the Mirage F.1’s)
but current Magic-2 is wrongly copy/pasted values of R-73 IRCCM
this remember me of what is better between american aircrafts and A6M zeroes,… two different ways to fight, but all played the same way.

Next logical step. Looks like AESA for all is the next planned step, and then maybe ECM depending on how you interpret the CM blog. But after that? I think its the next sensible step without adding newer, more capable aircraft.
Magic II is stronger than Aim-9M in most respects. Aim-9M is just an Aim-9L with smokeless motor and an IRCCM that only sometimes works and only in certain aspects. I see it get 1 flared defeated way too often. Heck, would be nice if its IRCCM worked at all in the front hemisphere

Even if they’re on your team you can use them as bait
sometimes, it feels like the shutter on Magic-2 isn’t working,… because it picks off flares to easily (playing a lot lately,… - M4K needs Balance)
With the difference that rafale can do do everything well, and doesn’t really have a notable weakness considering the average engagement’s distance in war thunder
The vast majority of players consider the rafale as the best plane in the game. And even by doing a pros/cons list about every plane at top tier, you will come to the realization that the rafale is unmatched.

Bigger maps wouldn’t make the rafale any weaker
Missiles launched at longer ranges are hilariously easy to defeat, so if you want an actual chance to kill someone you have to get closer and closer, nullifying the range advantage of missiles such as the amraam
