Honestly this may come off as cope/vent, but honestly im just so sick of people out-running my MICA’s despite being within 12miles and mach 1.8 at 28,000ft, like ANY other missile with that much of an energy advantage would hit from that close. But the MICA bleeds so much energy in just 1 turn it falls out of the sky without ever coming close. I just had a match where i was mach 1.5 with at least a 10,000ft advantage over a guy, and only about 6miles away (i could literally lock him with ACM) and he still out-ran my missile. i know from experience with the EF-2000 that if i was using an aim-120 it would’ve hit easily.
MBDA states it has a maximum range of 31miles or 50km. yet in game, when fired under ideal circumstances (mach 1.8, 30,000ft) it rarely ever reaches even 10miles, despite the stat card saying “launch range: 31miles”
I understand some people will say “it has TVC control, it would be too OP with its IRL range”, but i think thats just bs, the TVC only comes in handy when your already at a range where 100% of missiles will hit, like within 6miles, and obv dogfights, but in SIM rn at toptier DF’s only happen like 15% of the time. Any other scenario the TVC seems to just make the speed bleed worse as it you can visibly see the MICA wobbling which probably has alot to do with why it has such short range.
so like whats the deal, when are they gonna buff it?, all the fancy medium range missiles like PL-12, AIM-120c5, and R-77-1 are here?..are they seriously gonna wait to the point where other 4.5th gen like Su-35 come with R77m, or F16block-72 with AIM-120D and then they basically have to buff it? or will they just do some BS and add the Meteor missile?..because honestly i just want to BVR.
calling it “the best missile in the game” is just cope. its range despite saying 31miles on the stat card is more like 8miles. making it not even a medium range missile as medium range missile are meant for 19-50miles. its only good because its TVC, other than that beyond like 8 miles you can bleed its energy ridiculously easy as its centerline wobbles like hell. the current best missile in the game is R-77-1, as it can be fired offbore as a result of its decent maneuverability, and it also has good range. the best missile for range is still the PL-12/120-c5
I mean, it is the best missile in the game. It’s lacking range compared to IRL is a known issue, however it’s not an easy fix, due to how the game handles guidance logic with TVC, it leads to excess energy bleed compared to other missiles in game due to desync issues. However, honestly, it doesn’t really need a buff. Even if it is lacking in some ways, its still very arguably the best missile in the game, and fixing it’s range would make it so it’s the best by such a large margin that other newer additions would be needed.
Once every other missile gets their correct seekers then yeah sure
Right now its criminal that the mica is the only fox 3 with an upgraded seeker meanwhile other missiles that are known to have upgraded seekers still have the original stats
Currently, engaging Rafale below 25 km is guaranteed loss, and only hope others have is to sling AMRAAMs at him at range and hope he cant properly notch.
And you want to take that away too? Lmao.
Unless C5 gets turned into worthwhile upgrade instead of sidegrade to A/Bs, im gonna say MICAs dont need any sort of buff whatsoever.
yep…
And I still remember how people went so crazy , and rant about R77-1’s going to be so broken, and dominate all , especially aim 120’s :D
And still there are people who claims micas needs buff when they perform 2x/1.5x better compared to other planes .
I just wonder, why other planes doing so much better in history of wt received nerfs so hard compared to mica’s. Best example was mig 29 losing r73’s, just because it was “too” good
i dont see how increasing its range would result in other nations getting a better missile. the MICA-EM is just a 1-trick pony for CQC, while every other missile is good at both close and medium range. i dont see how the MICA being good at close range warrants it not being able to effectively engage aircraft past like 8 miles.
