Bombers are now an easy target unless they pack a lot of firepower. Their biggest strenght in WT is their third person view and markers, which allows bombers to intercept fighters from much longer range then they would otherwise.

At the same time is dying to a bomber pointless, since they won’t win games.
If they did in the past, it’s because they couldn’t be intercepted.

If bombers have to land, they are basically a free kill at later stages.

There’s probably a lot that could be done to change the current bomber vs. fighter gameplay dynamic.

Agreed. Giving machine gun caliber ammunition realshatter is not the way to go about it. I think it’d be a better alternative if they made them behave like U.S. incendiary where it’s just damage to the wing superstructure. It’s not realistic by any means. Currently, you can have them hit where if you strike near the wing root with those rounds, they can fragment up to the fuselage and do damage. This would also nerf the swede 13mm, making it so they can finally come down a bit. At that point. Gaijin can add custom belts (as per the accepted suggestion) and these talks about belt composition can just die.

Agree with this too. The thing is if we go with gaijin’s likely option to change something. it’d be easier to just make everything OP instead of realistic. Because planes aren’t tanks.

Agreed on the composition. It’s not great, but in terms of HE damage for it’s HE shell, they’re roughly similar, and cannons are better than no cannons… At that general BR where you have U.S. planes with majority cannon armaments. Everyone basically has cannons at that point with an exception or two and just about every tree has a pretty donked up aircraft at the BR range the F4U-4B is at.
