My advice: Join us in Air Sim EC for propeller plane fun! I can guarantee you’ll enjoy it at 3.0-5.7 BR range, at 3.7-4.7 you should have a pretty balanced experience too with less oppressive aircraft being over-abundant.
WingalingDragon has great tutorials for getting started. Requiem has tutorials for dogfighting alongside Sheriff’s Sim Shack. Captain Squishface has duel demonstrations, breakdowns and some tutorials as well. TrainingDays has breakdowns too. Flying Tea-rex and IdahoBookworm have some plane specific videos.
Wingaling also has an LFG discord so you don’t fly alone but get to enjoy cooridnated operations. WarthunderSim subreddit also exists for a tutorial library and general active discussion & advice exchange.
While not perfect, the higher barrier of entry makes it that people in WT sim are playing to have fun rather than grind at the listed BRs (esp 3.7-4.7. At 5.3 the Pe-8 appears and at 6.0 the ju 288 ruins things). Note: does not apply during air grind events.

It’s all because of multipathing. All of it. The game never forced it’s playbase to learn how to defeat missiles or take strategic routes. We’ve been saying this to Gaijin for 6 (almost 7 years) now. It started with the F-4. It’s just gotten worse with more advanced systems.

No to toot my own horn but if anyone wants practice with sim I am happy to help, I love sim and I can help teach some tricks and help you learn dogfighting techniques to the best of my ability. I will say I kinda fly by feel rather that specific tactics though like I tend to read what the opponent does and counter quick so it might be hard to explain but if you need it I’ll definitely help.
Ps. I’m on controller as well so it might be a little different than kbm or flight stick but I’ll do my best to interpret it
